Gorgeousguineas.com offers natural products made specifically for their skin and coat. You can also find small animal shampoos at pet supply stores. What does sweat like a pig mean and why?
The phrase "Sweating like a Pig" means sweating profusely. This sounds illogical, as pigs (the animal) have ineffective sweat glands, but the term is derived from the iron smelting process. After pouring into runners in sand, it is allowed to cool and is seen as resembling a sow and piglets, hence "pig iron". As the pigs cool, the surrounding air reaches its dew point, and beads of moisture form on the surface of the pigs. "Sweating like a pig" indicates that the pig has cooled enough to be moved in safety. it just means that when a pig is hot it rolls in mud.
Is a hamster smellier than a guinea pig?
Guinea Pigs are MUCH larger than Hamsters and since their excrement (droppings) and cleaning habits and so on are similar - one could conclude that they smell the same.
BUT if you do not clean their habitat often enough, THEN a Guinea Pig's Cage/Terarium would be Smellier than a Hamster's - SINCE they would have a larger amount of droppings (both in size and amount) and there would be more excrement in their enclosure.

Is a short hair guinea pig better than a long hair guinea pig?
It all depends on if you like brushing your guinea pig a lot. You see, long hair guinea pigs are harder to groom and their hair gets full of dust and bedding and gets kind of nasty. But, short hair guinea pigs have more trouble keeping themselves warm. So it depends on if you are a brusher or a cuddler. If you are both, then I suggest getting a long hair and a short hair to share a cage together.
After a gunnie pig gives birth how long before the baby can be removed from the mother?
AS long as there is a daddy in the cage she will continue to have babies though to many times is not good for them.
I had one that was always having babies til one day when they were born they all looked like aliens deformed out of 7 there was 1 survivor that was normal.
they need to be separated from the daddy as soon as u know she is pregnant as the daddy will eat the newborns and like any one that can get pregnant give them a break
They can give birth 3-7 times a year if you don't give them breaks (which you should!)

What size cage is correct for two guinea pigs?
for a common mouse you buy at the pet store? id reccommend at lleast a 20 gallon tank, others may find this inaccurate but i like to actually give my pets room to run and be happy.
i had two rats a few years back and kept them in a tank about 55 gallons.
so the answer is, as big as you can have. 1 mouse would more than happy in a 20-30 gallon tank though. just remember, bigger is better with caging a pet.
