if you have checked your hamster to make sure that it is alive and not hurt it most likely means it went into hibernation. when hamsters feel it is too cold they go into hibernation just like other wild mammals do. make sure that if it is winter keep your house at a good temperature to keep your hamster happy!

my hamster peanut died when he was having an operation for breast cancer he lived to the part where the doctor stitched him so he had one sort of heart attack it was so sad and i miss him soooooooooo much. but even though he had breast cancer he was a boy hamster. he was the sweetest hamster in the entire world.

when you go on holiday you should give your pet to some one you trust like a family member or good friend. tell the person your leaving the pet with how much food and water they should give it and if need how often to clean it out. Don't give it extra food and water and then just leave him/her for a week.

a colorful fish,an insect of some sort(stick insects can make good pets) or maybe some sea monkeys? i know i loved sea monkeys when i was little, so did my brothers. i would advise you not give a small mammal to a 5 year old, i grew up with cats,dogs,mice and snakes and learned many lessons the hard way. including when my old cat peter taught me how to hold him correctly, my mum had to remove his claws from my neck AFTER i ran all the way downstairs with him dangling there... a fish or sea monkeys are alot less... painful :)

Yes they can but only as a treat! Fruits are high in sugar which can lead to health problems in the long term and can also lead to tooth decay. An occasional blueberry or two won't hurt though.

Dwarf hamsters can get along with each other but you have to be careful. Here are some things that you should know:

*Syrians can't be paired together

*Dwarfs can be paired BUT they NEED to be the same sex (unless you want babies) and they really SHOULD be the same breed.
