One way to earn goldThe first thing you need to buy in the game is a basket. It costs 5000G and to get it, ship the three bamboos and the two blue herbs you find near gotz house and near the spring. Also, try digging for oar (It's not much, but it'll add to your profit) Do the same thing when you buy the basket and use it.
the next thing to do is to upgrade your ax two times once you have the money. But this is optional, it will give you enough lumber for extensions though, so try chopping wood everyday. Make a fence near the hen house, about 9 square units should be able to fit in it. Plant some grass and when it's ready, buy a chicken. Place it where the grass is so you don't need to feed it fodder everyday. Make sure to buy some though in case of rainy days.

When your horse is all grown up, make sure to bring the basket with you during the horse races. Bet on yourself a lot of times and win. Change your medals to truffles and place them in your basket. With your back to the mine and you facing the waterfall, throw in the things that come from your farm. The Harvest Goddess will show herself, and will talk to you. If you give her 5 offerings, she'll give you lumber that you will sell to Gotz for a lot of money. 10 offerings-You'll bump into your sweetheart. 20/15(I can't remember!)offerings-She'll give you a power berry.
4.Harvest Sprites' home. They're house is behind the church.Just follow the path and you'll be there. You can ask for help from them. But don't ask during Spring...
5.Honey and SPECIAL Honey get honey, simply just plant flowers on your farm. Some bees will come by the next day when your flowers bloom to build a hive on your apple tree. You can harvest honey ALL through Spring, Summer, Autumn, and even through WINTER. If you give a jar to Louis, the guy at Gotz's house with green clothes and a net, he'll come by a few days later standing at your apple tree. He'll say that the bees there are the very ones he was looking for and said that they are very rare. He'll ask the buyer's, to increase the price of the honey.

He offers to let you help him at the site, which you decline. Flora will then walk back into the site since she is finished with her work. Carter quickly gives her another job to do.

Nami welcomes you as you walk in the door. When you notice nobody is around, she explains that Ruby headed to Cody's place so she's keeping an eye on the Inn. He figures he'd ask you the same question, so he asks if he could kiss you! Tell him he can (......い、いいよ) and Rock will tell you to close your eyes.
Nothing happened! When you open your eyes, Rock laughs and said he was joking. Lumina fell for it too. You'll walk away angry, leaving a confused Rock back at the pond.

Rock begins to talk about Lumina a lot. Oh, she can make delicious cakes and she would be a lovely bride! Lumina is sooooo cute. Rock just keeps going on and on about Lumina. After a while you become annoyed by this and tell him that he seems to get along with Lumina (レオナちゃんと付き合 ってるの). That wasn't the response Rock was looking for. Did he say something strange to make you angry?

First place winner can get 600 lumber. This contest just tallies up all the wild items you've found. If you picked up at least 500 wild items throughout the year, then you will most likely win.

There is a cheat you can use if you have the fishing team. Hire them for 7 days, location the beach. Some time in those 7 days you will wake up and find that your money is up as far as it can go! It can only happen during winter seson, you can only have the fishing team if you have a fishing rod

In order to return the Harvest Goddess you must bring back 60 other sprites (this includes the casino sprites, TV channel sprites, etc.)

Basic Requirements:
To get married you must complete all the marriage requirements for that person. The basic requirements you must complete for any marriage candidate are:
-Upgrade your house twice
You can use the phone in your house to hire Gotz. He will upgrade your house. But the option to upgrade your house will not become available until you buy the Table. You can buy the Table from the Shopping Network. To unlock the Shopping Network you must buy at least one item from Karen's Supermarket on ten different days. On the tenth day you will rescue the Harvest Sprite that runs the Shopping Network. After you upgrade your house the first time, the second upgrade instantly become available.
-Buy the Double Bed
This can be bought from the Shopping Network once your house has been upgraded a second time.
-Have a Red Heart with the person
Talk to the person and give them gifts they like to earn LP. It takes 60,000LP to have a Red Heart.
-See all four of the Heart Events:
There is a Black, Purple, Blue, and Yellow Heart Event for each person. The Heart Events will still work if you have any Heart Color that comes after the required color. In Harvest Moon DS Cute Skye has an extra heart event, a Green Heart Event.
-Rescue the Harvest Goddess
This will happen once you rescue your 60th Harvest Sprite. There are 101 Harvest Sprites in all but you only need 60 in order to get married.
After you do all that you can successfully propose to most marriage candidates with the Blue Feather.
-The Blue Feather will become available in Karen's Supermarket once any marriage candidates reaches on Orange Heart Color. But don't propose until the Heart turns Red.
After the person accepts your proposal the wedding takes place one week later. Unless that day is a festival, then the wedding is pushed back a day. The wedding takes place on the beach unless you marry one of the special marriage candidates.
Extra Requirements:
The Witch Princess, Leia, and the Harvest Goddess have extra requirements.
Witch Princess: Give her at least 10,000 gifts.
Leia: You must have the Duck Pond built on your farm
Harvest Goddess: Be in year five or later
Ship at least one of every item

Harvest Moon DS:
-There are copies of the NA version of Harvest Moon DS with glitches that makes it impossible to marry the Harvest Goddess and or the Witch Princess
-The Harvest Goddess will not live in your house if you marry her. She remains in the pond
-In Harvest Moon DS your duck pond can be destoryed by a storm. Leia lives in that pond if you marry her so she will vanish for good if that happens
-If you marry a girl from Mineral Town the game will end. There is no after marriage life with them. If you want a child or to continue with your file you cannot marry a Mineral Town girl
Harvest Moon DS Cute:
-Skye's proposal works differently. He will not accept the Blue Feather even when you have completed all the requirements. After you propose go to bed with the Blue Feather in your bag and you should get a note from Skye in the morning. That will not happen if the weather is bad the next day or if it is a festival
-If you marry Skye he sleeps in later than the other marriahe candidates
-The game will not end if you marry a bachelor from Mineral Town. However, most of them will have to commute to Mineral Town for work and will be gone most of the day
-DS Cute has a "best friend" feature. Because of that you can see the Heart Events of the speical bachelorettes. But they will not move in with your character unless you have the Japanese version
Can you marry cliff in harvest moon island of happiness?
No you can only marry someone if theirs a heart next to there picture when you talk to them. there are two exceptions. in some games theirs a glitch and if your a girl in some games there is no heart next to Shea's picture even though you can marry him and it's the same thing for a boy except instead of Shea it's the witch princess. plus cliff is already married
