To answer your question simply, yes, you can pick up over the air HD signals from your analog antenna. As a matter of fact that's how I have my HDTV set up. I just read somewhere recently, but can't recall where, that over the air HD is a much cleaner signal or much better picture than cable or sat. [correction: the HDTV over-the-air "OTA" signal is better than Cable/Satellite TV. Cable/Satellite signal is compressed, with a loss of quality] I don't have cable or satellite but just use the antenna that I have hanging in my attic. What you will discover, depending on your location and signal strength I'd imagine, is that you will not only receive your regular network broadcast but additional stations as well. Because the HD signal is broadband, the networks are able to transmit additional stations with alternate programs available. The typical transmit I see is that a network will send the regular station and then the same program but at a higher resolution and then a third or sometimes fourth station with an increase in resolution and often show different programs. For example my local Chicago PBS station is channel 11. On channel 11 you will see the standard non-HD program. on 11.1 you might see the same program but in 720p. On 11.2 you will see some really nice nature stuff or other HD specific programs in 1080i (When I bought my set, 1080p had just come out but wasn't available on my set at the time). Also, some networks may use one of their additional slots as an all weather station such as NBC and ABC. If you already have an analog antenna then I would recommend that you need not purchase any other antenna despite what the salesman tells you. [However, HD signal is more susceptible to obstructions than analog. My analog antenna picks up analog stations just fine, but not HD - I have two large trees close to my house.] When I first purchased my TV the salesman tried to convince me to buy a small HDTV antenna that he said was desigened specifically to receive HD signals. It was priced at $40. My first thought was, 'an antenna is an antenna' what's the difference? He told me I could return it if I didn't see any improvement. So I bought it and set everything up at home and I auto programmed my set twice. I let it scan for channels with my original antenna and then I let it scan for signals with the new antenna. I took the new antenna back. What I found was that I could pick up more and better signals with my own antenna. Of course everyone else's experience may differ but I thought it would help to know. Hello - from all my research it is clear that even digital signals can be degraded by weather conditions. Contrary to statements that claim 'you either get a digital signal or not', you can receive digital signals that have been weakened by weather conditions. I live in Ohio, and am fortunate to be able to use a plain 'bowtie' indoor antenna (no amplifier either) with my TV, and generally get excellent reception. However, when the weather includes heavy rain and especially high winds, my digital reception can randomly blank out, or the picture freezes, or shows random frozen pixels, or loses audio. Considering the high cost and very poor customer service of my local cable provider, I am more than happy to put up with my free, if occasionally less than perfect, digital reception. If you can turn it off you shall do so, when you turn it back on when it say resuming windows you should press control + alt + delete real quick and that sould fix it.

You get unusable signal on your TV because your TV is not on the correct input setting to pick up the signal from your device (DISH Network or other provider). You only need to change the input setting to find the correct input to get the signal.

Your terminal has been deactivated means that the Jerrold CFT 2200 cable box needs to be re-activated. To re-activate a locked receiver you need to get a service code generator or SCG programmer. The SCG programmer will send activation codes into the General Instrument CFT 2200 cable box and reset the unit back to normal. At that point the Your Terminal Has Been Deactivated message will leave the television screen and you should be able to use the cable box as a tuner or whatever you decide to use it for. Having a SCG Programmer can remove any error code from the General Instrument CFT 2200 cable box.

Depends on the Mac. More information is needed. If newer unibody macbook you can use the "mini-display port" to either VGA or DVI adaptor. you will then probably need a cable that will connect those to the TV. In the case of the DVI which will give you better resolution you will probably want the DVI to HDMI adapter. That is what I use.

Such codes are generated by the universal remote manufacturer rather than the TV manufacturer. As such, the actual codes will differ from one remote to another. Regretfully, Olevia TV's (for the most part) use proprietary infrared frequencies. This means that the code for another TV brand will not work with Olevia TV's. Some of the main features for the Panasonic PT-DZ6710U DLP projector are it's brightness rating of 6000 ANSI, a contrast rating of 2000:1 and the compatibility with all input formats ranging van SD to 1080P / 60Hz HD signals.

LCD televisions use liquid crystals to open and close tiny shutters, three for each pixel of the image. As each shutter opens and closes, light can pass through in varying amounts. Using a red, a green and a blue filter in front of the three crystal shutters allows any color and any brightness to be created. The liquid crystals don't actually emit their own light.

This is where the back light comes in. Behind the liquid crystal layer is a light layer. Most LCD televisions have used cold cathode lamps but more recently, LED back lights have been used as an alternative. LED lighting is smaller and generates less heat than the cold cathodes but they both do the same job.

This happened to me as well. It started after a breaker blew. The way I fixed it was to disconnect the tv from a power source for about a minute, then plugged it back in. Hope that helps!
