Why is it the when I connect my DVD player to the HDTV my screen goes red I?

I'm not sure why it goes red but the reason it doesn't play is because the DVD player is not capable of giving 1080p (amount of pixels on the screen) to the TV, it can only give 480p. You would need to purchase a blue ray player to make it work.

P.s. blue ray players give 1080p :)

When buying a flatscreen TV which is better a Liquid Crystal Display or a Plasma?

1080p recent LCD - it will last far longer. The plasmas used to have more contrast, deeper blacks and better viewing coverage, but the LCDs for all intents and purposes have caught up in the last gen a year ago or so. Plasma will burn in an image if left too long on the same place on the the screen - like the network logo in the corner of some broadcasts. There is a maintenance mode that will fix it (full white screen for X amount of time), but why bother? It will also get dimmer in the years to come.

Connect indoor antenna?

1. Buy a Terk antenna. I have tried 4 other brands and there is no comparison. 2. Move the TV or antenna to eliminate interferance. Floresant lights or nearby metal will cause the signal to vary. 3. Connect the antenna then use your TV "menu" to tell your set to use the antenna input. Then choose "auto-program" to let your TV find signals. 4. For many channels, you have to turn the antenna or adjust the sensitivity switch.

It is a small transformer that allows you to properly connect a 300 ohm "balanced" antenna to 75 ohm "unbalanced" TV set. It works by allowing a "balanced" antenna to combine its outputs (it has 2) to the single input of the "unbalanced" TV (the center conductor of the coaxial cable).

Who makes precision TVs?

Hi,

Is precision a brand, or are you asking about the precision of the video display?

If it's a brand, try a Google search, but don't expect much. It may be a house brand (TV's made for a particular dealer by another company, which could be made by just about anyone) or if you're looking for a precision video display, you should look at commercial broadcast equipment, and be ready to shell out some big bucks for that.

Hope this helps,

Cubby
