What is a better cable, HDMI or DVI?

Both HDMI 1.1 and DVI are equal quality as far as video is concerned but only HDMI can carry audio as well. HDMI 1.3 has an option for Deep-Colour support - meaning more colours than maybe some older DVI displays can display. Be aware that all HDMI devices are likely to be HDCP compliant to protect content such as Blu-ray movies while older DVI devices may not have HDCP capability and so will not sure protected images.

Can you burn blu ray torrent movies to a regular not blu ray dual layer DVD and watch it on a blu ray player?

If you just want burn downloaded blu ray movies to a DVD disc as data DVD without convert, you can keep the blu ray video quality, but you can't play the burned data DVD on DVD player, only play it on computer.

Or if you want to play the burned DVD on regular DVD player, you have to convert and burn your downloaded blu ray movies to a standard video DVD that can be played well on regular DVD player, but standard video DVD only support 720x480(ntsc) or 720x576(pal) video resolution highest, don't support higher video resolution, so when convert downloaded blu ray movies to standard video DVD, right software will reduce the video resolution to fit the standard video DVD, but if your DVD player supports divx or xvid, you can convert your downloaded blu ray movies to HD divx or xvid avi files and burn onto a DVD, then play on your divx or xvid DVD player without losing quality. You can try RZ DVD Creator or Nero, it can convert and burn downloaded blu ray movies to standard video DVD that can be played well on regular DVD player, and it also can convert downloaded blu ray movies to HD divx or xvid avi files and burn to DVD that can be played well on Divx or Xvid DVD player. You can yahoo or Google search RZ DVD Creator or Nero and download it, easy to use, hope it can help you.You should be able to get the software necessary from torrents also.

How can you connect your computer to a TV or television screen?

You would need either a S-Video, or HDMI out on the computer or a RGB or DVI in on the TV. If you have neither of these you can purchase a graphics card with HDMI out relatively cheap. Once installed you simply connect the cable. Anything less that HDMI/DVI will be hard to read as the resolution will be very low.

Are Vizio LG Viewsonic HDTV as good as Sony Samsung TV's?

It really comes down to the size of LCD TV you are looking at. Different sizes of LCD TVs offer different features. It is important to compare each feature. After doing so you will have a better understanding of which LCD TV you like. You have to compare apples to apples. In other words when comparing do by size, by specs, such as make sure both are 1080p, both 42 inch, both receiving same signal, etc. Then compare. Also, my Mother has a samsung, I have LG. There both same size and same specs for the most part, However; I personally think the samsung has a much better sound, and the LG has a little better picture but not that much better. I hear that Samsung is the best. I do love my LG, i like the look of it better, i got the surround sound system to compensate for the lower sound quality of the LG. I guess in the end it comes down to which will be most reliable. So far, no trouble with either and there both about a yr old. Either way I personally think LG and Samsung are the best. Either choice would be a good one. It just going to come down to you comparing both in a store and picking what u like best. Either way your going to be getting a great TV.

Is 600 hz better quility than 120hz?

Television images are created with a stream of still images. In the US, the stream is 60 fields each second. As two fields are needed to make a complete frame or image, the frame rate is 30 per second. In Europe, the rate is slightly slower, at 50 fields and 25 frames per second. As 30 or 25 frames per second is fairly slow, there can be a noticeable flicker and movement can look jerky as well. This is more of a problem in Europe than the US because of the slower frame rate in Europe. The frame rates were chosen years back according the mains supply frequency in the US and UK. Although this is no longer of any concern, with advances in elecctronics, the frame rates have stuck. Even with the move to high definition, the frame rates remain the same - 60Hz in the US and 50Hz in Europe. All other countries, by the way, follow one of the two frame rates.

The 120Hz or 100Hz displays aim to overcome the flickering and jerky movement by inserting a new field between each of the fields received by the television. The theory is that with 100 or 120 fields being displayed each second, the human eye cannot discern the discrete images and see only a smooth picture. For static and slow moving images, the theory works well but as with all engineering solutions, this isn't a perfect one in all cases...

Each field that is inserted needs to be made up. It cannot be a copy of the previous field because it would result in two identical fields, returning the output to 60 or 50 Hz. So, the new, intermediate field has to be calculated by taking the previous and the following field and working out what the image would be, if there was an original field at that time. It's a process called temporal interpolation and needs a huge amount of processing power. Sometimes, the calculations to generate the new field can get confused and the result is a disturbing judder in some parts of the image. Broadcasters who have to use similar techniques will spend a great deal of money to get the best conversions and domestic televisions will never have the same level of hardware installed.

These errors are rarely visible, but before spending a lot of extra cash on a 120Hz television, spend some time looking at the image. Look for fast pans across football supporters as the camera follows the ball, for example. Also look at fast scrolling text. These are the images that may cause problems. If you are happy with the image you see and it looks smoother than the 60Hz equivalent model, then it's a good buy. If it doesn't look smoother, you should ask yourself if the extra cost of a 120Hz television is worthwhile.

That said, there are many 100 and 120Hz televisions that do a good job. Just make sure you can see the improvement before you splash the cash.

What size bolt do you need for 32 Samsung tv?

I am not sure for the 32 Samsung, but I used 6m bolts and washers for my 37 in Samsung and the other measurements were 20.00 length and .10 screw point. I believe that these should also work for your TV. If they are to big the next size that I found on the Samsung website were 4m bolts. I hope that this helps, and they hardware that I bought for my tv cost less than $5 at Lowes.

How can you make your tv HD?

A standard definition television will never be a high definition television. Standard definition televisions use either 480 (NTSC) or 576 (PAL) lines to form a complete image. High definition uses 720 or 1080 lines to create the image. Unless the television has been designed to display high definition, it will not display a high definition signal. However, converters are available that will process a high definition signal and convert it to 480 or 576 lines. The output of one of these down converters can then be shown on a standard definition television. Be aware that once the signal is converted to standard definition, the image quality will be standard definition because the fine detail found in a 1080 line image is lost during the conversion. The use of a down converter only provides the means of watching high definition content and will never offer HD quality. Some LCD televisions do not offer HD television reception but may have a VGA input for use with a computer. Normally, the VGA resolution is higher than standard definition television; a converter that will take an HD signal and process it to a VGA signal may provide better results. Typically, LCD displays capable of supporting computer displays will have 768 lines or perhaps even higher. A conversion to VGA may well provide a higher quality result but the final quality is dependent on the display, the converter and the incoming signal. Some experimentation may be required and it may me less expensive to simply purchase an HD television rather than a good quality converter.

Can a uhf antenna pick up vhf signals as well?

Yes, a UHF antenna can pick up VHF signals, but not well. The size difference makes the uhf antenna "inefficient" for the longer vhf wave length, but some energy can be received by the uhf antenna.

What is the best soundbar for a Sony Bravia tv?

Sony has recently launched their own range of soundbars but there are many more to choose from and that will work with Sony and other brands of television.

Recent installations of a soundbar comparison system in a UK supermarket demonstrate very well that there are big differences in the performance of various soundbars. More importantly, it isn't the most expensive that sound the best. It is vital that you get to listen to a few of them to make your own comparison. There is little point in buying a soundbar to find that it doesn't improve the sound compared to the television's internal speakers. Similarly, there is no point in buying a more expensive model when others sound just as good.

Sound is a very personal thing to judge so offering opinions about the best doesn't help. However, it is worth listening to models from Sony, Yamaha, Samsung and Roth among others but let your own ears be the judge of what is right.

Edit: In my experience the addition of a sub-woofer can do much to enhance the realism of the sound field. There are some soundbars that have sub-woofers matched to them and some that are connected wirelessly. The placement relative to the HDTV is relatively unimportant. The HEOS by Denon HomeCinema system includes both a soundbar and subwoofer as their combo. And with the two together, they deliver an incredibly clear and resounding sound experience.

How can you connect freeview tv without a vhf uhf antenna?

Freeview is the name of the UK's terrestrial digital television service. It is received only with a suitable UHF antenna.

Can you hook up an external hard drive to your Blu-ray player and watch movies?

No. Although the maximum data transfer speed of blu-ray discs is much higher than that of DVD's, it's speed is much slower than a standard HDD (72MBit/sec compared to better than 1GBit/sec) and the writing speeds are slower, and seek times even slower. Using a rewritable blu-ray disc as a hard drive would be a very bad idea, indeed.

Why would a DVD not play on your computer?

The answers to this are many and varied. But let's start with the basics...

Firstly, is the drive, DVD compatible? A standard CD drive will not play DVDs. A DVD drive will however play both.

If it is a DVD compatible drive, will it fail to play any DVD, or is it just one particular disk? If only one disk, then that disk is either damaged or faulty or of the wrong region (see below).

If it won't play a DVD at all, then suspect either a faulty drive and/or hardware. If they're okay, then the installation of the drivers and supporting software maybe at fault. Uninstall the software/drivers etc., remove the drive and re-install again.

Finally, is it the right region? Some DVD drives are multi-regional, which means they will play DVDs from other regions (countries).

Others are multi-regional, but only for the first few transitions: you are allowed to play disks from different regions for up to 4 or 5 region changes. On the 4th (or 5th) region change, that disks region will be set as the region for the drive - permanently! A pointless feature, in my opinion.

The regions are as follows...

0 All regions 1 United States, Canada and US territories 2 Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Japan 3 South-East and East Asia 4 Central America, Mexico, S. America, Caribbean, Australia, N.Z., Pacific Isl. 5 Rusland, former Soviet Union, North Korea, India, Africa 6 China 7 Reserved (not active) 8 International territory (ships, planes etc)

AnswerWhere the answer states: "If only one disk [won't play], then that disk is either damaged or faulty or of the wrong region (see below)", I'd like to point out that there is another reason not mentioned in that list -- the programming of the DVD can prevent it being played on various computer DVD drives. Sometimes the drive will not even "see" the disc because of this. AnswerWith the advent of copy protections for DVDs, there are an increasing number of production firms that are specifically coding discs so that they will not play in a computer. These firms instead are offering "digital versions" that can be purchased for a premium. Disney and its subsidiaries are at the forefront of this movement.

Which is better led or LCD tv and why?

Television technology is suffering from some confusing terms at present.

LCD televisions use a light behind the liquid crystal panel. The light has been a cold cathode device but recently, LEDs have been used as an alternative. Both use the same LCD imaging technology.

A true LED television uses LEDs to generate red, green and blue light for every pixel. The technology has been with us for many years and is used extensively in large outdoor displays for concerts and stadia for example. Very recently, organic LEDs (OLEDs) have been used to create domestic sized displays. They offer the same high contrast capability of the larger displays and are a simpler construction than LCD models. The use of directly driven LEDs also allows a much faster update rate than LCD so they overcome any issues of image lag or smearing that can sometimes be noticed with LCD or plasma displays.

The disadvantage is the current price. In 2012, OLED televisions are far more expensive than other technologies but expect the price to fall dramatically in the coming year or two as production volumes increase.

Which TV is better lcd or led TV?

LED is a thinner/slick modern looking tv. It uses LED lights or light emitting diodes. LED TV's are able to produce a higher picture quality then the stander LCD TV. This is because of higher contrast ratios. LED TV's can show truer blacks and brighter whites.

Why is your 1080p television showing 1080i?

It's to do with the resolution. The 1080 identifies the number of lines that create the image, so 1080p and 1080i have the same number of lines. The letter stands for the type scan the TV uses. The P stands for progressive and the I stands for interlaced. Progressive will process the image twice as fast as interlaced and therefore produces better colour and clarity.

Roughly how much does a Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV cost?
