Is a risk to change the screen refresh rate in laptop from 59 to 60 Hz?
I don't think it would hurt. I changed the refresh rate of my laptop's LCD from 59 to 60 a month ago and its been working fine since. As long as 60 Hz is already shown as an option in your control panel or whatever, it should be OK.
My projector tv is in green and blue how do i fix it?
Sounds like your red CRT isn't on, or the video driver circuit for the red tube isn't working correctly. Could also be that if you're using RGB input cables to your TV, the red cable has worked loose at the cable/satellite box or TV end.

What would cause arched lines across the screen of a Sony projection TV?
This is 1 of 2 problems. 1; Convergence(depending on the model of sony, the convergence ic's will have cold solder joints) 2: vertical ic issues. If they are different colored lines & the picture also bends, it's a convergence problem. Else suspect a vertical problem. In the case of vertical issues, most of the time it's a defective capacitor (or cold solder joints.)..Such is Sony. if it's the 3-crt kind of big screen, it's possible for one of the tubes to be going bad. I would have to actually SEE the problem before I could make a more accurate guess.

How do you get the adhesive from a sticker off of a LCD-LED TV screen?
Do you have to pay for a cable box each month if you get an HDTV with a digital tuner?
There are several alternatives to cable for HD television. They are dependant on the television and also the location.
Terrestrial broadcasts are now being offered in HD. A television with an HD tuner needs no other equipment to receive HD terrestrial broadcasts but a digital HD terrestrial receiver box may be needed.
Most areas have satellite coverage. Sky in the UK and Dish Network in the US are two examples. The UK also has the Freesat service - a free satellite service that includes SD and HD broadcasts. A suitable satellite receiver is needed but there is no subscription to be paid.
Cable providers provide competitive services to terrestrial and satellite broadcasts but almost all demand a monthly subscription. Depending on the location, satellite and terrestrial broadcasts offer free to air services as well as subscription channels.
Local television retailers will be able to advise on the availability of broadcasts in your area but be aware that their intention is to sell equipment and sesrvices to you so their advice may be biased towards subscription based solutions.

Can a DVD player be mounted on its side?
Most DVD players, no. But you could probably find some where that wouldn't matter. Get one with a slot where you insert the CD, rather than a tray. Or a laptop would work, except that then you'll have to turn your head sideways too to watch the movie :-) -DJ Craig

How can you tell if your DVD player can play Blu-ray discs?
Normal DVD players will not play Blu-ray discs
True, you must buy a player that specifically states that it plays Blu-Ray discs. They run from $200+
It's the same with HD DVD's and Blue-Ray discs unless a player states they can play either; they won't run. Be careful too because HD DVD's and Blue-Ray discs are 2 separate things and are incompatible with each other so a player will play 1 or the other but not both. Soon enough though Blue-Ray will be all that is available as it will be the future of movies/televeision viewing. Regular DVD's and DVD players will soon be just like our distant friend... the VHS and VCR.
What is the maximum length of an infrared cable?
An "infrared cable" does not exist. Infrared is a wavelength of light and is used as a form of wireless transmission. You may be thinking of an infrared blaster. An infrared blaster is a wire with an infrared transmitter on one that is taped to the front of one device to emulate a remote control and is connected to another device, such as a VCR. There is no standardized length for such a cable. Since the data carried on it is serialized, likely does not need to be transmitted very fast, and is likely unshielded, such a wire could theoretically be used for several hundred feet.
What is the maximum length of SVGA video cable that can be used from a PC to a TV?
The figure often quoted for maxmum length of a DVI cable is around 40 feet. However, the real distance is dependant on both the quality of cable and the quality of the signal source and the signal receiver. All three are important. Poor quality components can reduce the maximum length to as little as 10 - 15 feet. On the other hand, using low loss cable with good quality drivers and receivers can extend the distance significantly further. As no manufacturer of cable, DVI drivers or DVI receivers is willing to quote guaranteed figures, it's really a matter of trial and error. Personally, I have used a 70 feet cable length with DVI signals and had no problems. I might add that I used a very low loss cable for the job - and they don't come cheap.
What if your Blu-ray player will play regular DVD but nor Blu-ray?
