Does hydogen peroxide kill lice and there nits?

Yes and no ; some times. =)

It depends on what peroxide you're using. If you're using the peroxide you get in the brown bottle at wal-mart for 50 cents then no. But if you're talking about the peroxide that lightens your hair - yes. If you're going to get rid of head lice using the peroxide route try a 20 volume peroxide. This will lighten your hair 1-2 shades (with no bleaching powder!) and kill all lice and nits. You could use a 30 volume if you wanted lighter hair or if you were crazy about getting the lice out, however Do not EVER EVER EVER put 40 volume peroxide directly on your scalp. It will burn your hair off.

What happens to you if you eat lice?

Well most likely if you scratch your head when you have lice you will get a lice bug out and under your nails. It is natural to scratch because they make it itch. I scratched when I had it bad and it didn't affect the lice at all.

Can you get lice in your tongue?

No, lice is only your head and cannot reach the mouth because they feed on the human scalp.

How long do you leave baby oil if you have lice?

around 2 hours, yet some people say 3 so for the safe side id do 3 hours :)

Do you have head lice if you see a bug in your head?

No, but you could have really bad dandruff. The medical name for dandruff is pityriasis capitis, and it's the most common condition of the scalp. Many people think they get dandruff because their scalp is too dry. They stop washing their hair with shampoo or wash it less frequently, because they believe it makes the condition worse. This is not true. Flaking only happens because of an increased turnover of skin cells. Dandruff is believed to be associated with an overgrowth of a fungus commonly found on the skin and scalp, called Pityrosporum ovale. It can be difficult to prevent dandruff completely, but it can be controlled. The condition may also improve as you get older. Anti-dandruff shampoos containing the antimicrobials selenium sulphide (egSelsun) or zinc pyrithione are helpful for mild dandruff.

Does T Gel shampoo kill lice?

No gel will not kill head lice the best thing to get is a head lice shampoo or cream

How does lice benefit from a human head?

None that I can think of. They are vermin. I am told that Buddhists shave their heads so as not to kill lice, because even the life of lice is sacred. Not judging, but I must disagree on some life forms, such as lice. Head lice are to your head what termites are to your house, but termites at least have a place in the food chain. If lice do any good for anything except themselves, I would like to hear about it.

Does using hair grease prevent lice?

Yes hair grease does acctually prevent lice in your head. It is just like oil and makes your head oily, which lice and nits do not like

Does bleach kill lice?

Bleach is a fairly common word which is used to describe a range of different things. Some forms of bleach and the household bleach that you put down the loo and stuff has usually got a lot of chlorine in it. In fact, the active chemical is a substance called sodium hypochlorite. It's the same stuff that they put in swimming pools.Other forms of bleach include hydrogen peroxide -- the stuff that you bleach your hair with and you can also use for mouthwash and teeth whitening, and say, sterilising your contact lenses for example. But they're called bleaches because they can react with things to take the colour out of them like hair. Now the way it works is that these molecules are reactive. They're oxidising agents and things that have colour are usually big, chunky molecules that have lots of electrons going around the molecule, and when light comes in, the light waves which are little packets called photons interact with the electrons in substances and certain colours of light will be preferentially absorbed by those electrons whilst other colours will be reflected. So when you see something and it looks say, red, the reason it looks red is because all of the light hitting it is being absorbed by the molecules except the red colours which are being reflected back to you. When you mix a certain chemical with these oxidising agents like hypochlorite or contact lens solution hydrogen peroxide, the oxidising effect breaks open the molecule, damaging it or affecting its structure in some way, so that the electron cloud which was doing that absorbing now changes its shape. And that has the effect of stopping the chemical from absorbing certain colours. So it goes white, instead of it absorbing certain colours and not others, now it reflects everything back at you and when you mix all the different colours together, you see white. So basically, you're changing the chemical structure of the thing that was giving the substance its colour in the first place.

What are the most affected areas by head lice?

Head lice can spread from the scalp to the eyebrows, eyelashes, and beard in adults, although they are more often limited to the scalp in children.

Will dish washing liquid kill head lice?

It may drown the live lice if you leave a lot of it in the hair overnight (which I DO NOT recommend that you do) but even that is not guaranteed to work. It wont even kill the eggs or nits. Don't waste your time and energy with home remedies that you find on the internet, I have been there and one that only to find that they do not work.

I used Lice Goodbye made from Fairy Tales Hair Care. It is an all natural lice treatment that kills the live lice instantly and makes it easier to comb out the nits or eggs by breaking down the glue that they use to stick to the hair shaft. Unfortunately, I know a lot about lice because I had to deal with it twice but its good to know the facts...thankfully my daughters are lice free thanks to their other hair care prodcuts-Rosemary Repel-that keep the lice away.

Do you tell your employer if you get head lice?

YES!

Answer 2

I think it depends on: what/where/and type of work/the environment you work in.

Otherwise it is a personal issue. If your digging ditches, NO! If you work in a medical lab, YES!

Will flat ironing your hair kill lice eggs?

Though there is scientific evidence to support that heat will kill head lice, the risk of possibly scalding the scalp with the flat iron is a risk. Lice lay their eggs very close to the scalp. Nits usually hatch by the time the hair has grown 1/4 inch. Here's a link to Dr. Richard Pollack's head lice site at Harvard with an answer to this question: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/headlice.html#Heat

Do lice sleep?

They can only actually live off of the head for up to 48 hours. It is not likely that they are living in your bedding but it can happen. If you have head lice you definitely need to vacuum your bed. You also need to wash your bedding on hot and dry them on high for 30 minutes. Your pillows and non living bed accessories need to be washed and dried, dried on high for 30 minutes, or put in a bag for 3-12 days. I say 3-12 days because of the life span of a louse off of the head and because it is highly unlikely for an egg to hatch off of the head but it can happen. So by some miracle, lol, the egg falls off of your head and it incubates for the full 7-10 days and then hatches, then it must feed within a few hours. So 12 days is overkill but you know it's good.

Will acetone kill head lice?

Yes, it works like a bomb! We used it on my little sisters head and she has no more head lice!

How do you stop yourself going to the toilet?

By going to the doctors and finding out why you're having bowel movements at night.

What is the most effective lice treatment?

Although there are several methods for killing lice with the use of chemical shampoos, lice are a highly resistant strain of bug and will survive most homeopathic remedies. Using a chemical shampoo correctly, by following all the instructions on the box, and then performing a thorough search for nits is the best way to effectively get rid of lice.

Is head lice a virus?

yes, they enter from the ear flap called the "pinna" and there are unique species of male lice that are attracted to moist ear wax, left side only, when victim is asleep. you wake up plump and bald due to swelling of the head

Can you treat lice with mouthwash?

No! No matter what you do your going to have to comb through your hair. Even if you buy the medicated stuff from walmart, it doesn't kill the eggs, so you'll just have lice again if you don't comb them out. That's why most medication says to use once and then again in a week or two to kill any newly hatched eggs.
