Even if the problem turns out to be a basic issue and easily dealt with, it is very important to keep your family/friends aware of health issues just in case. b) headaches, although common, should not be considered "normal", and in some cases could be a symptom of an underlying problem that needs prompt medical attention. I began suffering from Migrane Headaches at an early age. I remember having my first one around the age of 7! My Father has Migranes and they are often hereditary. Migranes can last for more than one day. My fathers typically last three whole days and he has to lie in a room that is entirely dark with no noise whatsoever and a cool cloth placed on his forehead. Thankfully mine do not last as long, but I have had one last approximately 50 hours. I experience intense eye pain in conjunction with other symptoms such as extreme nausea, I have had actual vomiting with some of them, a feeling of my equilibrium being "off", (a sensation of dizziness almost, but more like the floor is moving underneath me) noise seems amplified to a million times its normal level, the feeling of pain seems to be centered on one entire side of my head. It is on both sides, but the majority of the agony is on one side. I sometimes experience what is known as an "aura" usually the day before I get the headache. I see spots or things floating past my vision off and on. I also experience the strong smell of garlic all around me! Weird, yes. There are different types of headaches and they are each characterized by their own symptoms. The symptoms that I have are typical of Migranes. There are stress headaches, cluster headaches, sinus headaches, etc. I would ask you this: Have you had headaches for a long time? Is this new to you? Is this the longest headache you have had? Are you experiencing other symptoms that have you concerned? Try over the counter pain relievers such as Ibuprofen according to directions. (TELL YOUR FOLKS FIRST!) Rest in silence and darkness. You need to consult a doctor about this... the headaches shouldn't be happening but the dizziness is normal. Its kind of your bodys way of telling you to sleep.

Cluster headache is not considered deadly, however its nickname is "suicide headache" and patients are more likely than non cluster patients to try or complete suicide.

popsicles help sore throats because the cold helps reduce swelling. its the equivelent of putting an ice pack on sprained ankle.

In some people, Headaches occur because the tears on your eyes cause them. Body pains occur because you are hurting phsyceologicly and causing physical pains. That's my thery, hope this helps!

Vicoden is one of the few drugs that SEEMS to have no adverse reactions to the unborn fetus. However, as with any other substance/controlled substance, it is always better to be safe than sorry and not to take these medications while pregnant. On a further note, Vicoden is a medication designed to target pain that is muscular/joint/etc.-related. It will NOT help a headache or migraine, and is not designed for that. Not only do I know this medically (my profession), but I have known people to try it -- unsuccessfully. If you are taking Vicoden (or Lortab, Hydrocodone, etc.) for a headache, the only thing it will do is increase your chances of becoming an addicted mother. It is also a depressant; and can cause you to feel tired, unmotivated, and eventually even depressed. For the best possible outcome here, which would be a healthy mother and a healthy baby, skip the narcotics all together.

Your dentist or doctor should prescribe medication for you. It's important to take this medication exactly as directed. Do not take any other medication without consulting your doctor first. If you were not prescribed anything after your tooth extraction and you are in pain, call your dentist or doctor to request pain medication along with specific directions on how and when to take it. Do this immediately. Additionally, from the dentist, you should have received a print-out on what to expect while healing with steps to take in order to avoid a dry socket, stop excessive bleeding, and precautions when eating or drinking. You especially need to know how to avoid a dry socket as this could cause severe pain and prolong healing. Do not partake in exercise, bending, or lifting for at least the first 48 hours. Get rest and take it easy. An ice pack can reduce swelling thus easing your pain somewhat.

I do not know either, but am very interested in the answer if one exists. I'm just writing to let you know you are not the only one who experiences this. Mine only stay for a second or two when they strike - kind of a severe tweak. I have some neck issues; whiplash and a backward curvature. The best explaination I've heard was my Chiropractor scratching his head and guessing that it could be nerve related, but he didn't know.

This actually happened to me along with extreme swelling of my legs. I believe it was postpartum preclampsia. It will go away it took meds and about 3 weeks to get better.
