What does the heart look like?

Weighing in at 10 ounces, the blood-filled muscle called the heart has become the universal symbol of love. In under a minute, your heart can pump blood to every cell in your body. And over the course of a day, about 100,000 heart beats shuttle 2,000 gallons of oxygen-rich blood many times through about 60,000 miles of branching blood vessels that link together the cells of our organs and body parts. That's a hefty job for a fist-sized muscle.

The heart is about the size of your fist. It lies on its' left ventricle along the diagram forming a point (called the apex). It takes up enough space that the left lung is slightly smaller than the right lung because 2/3 of the heart is located on the left side of the body.

The left lung contains the cardiac notch which contains the apex.

What is the valve of a Savage model 23d 22 Hornet?

I paid my buddy $250. for mine. That's with an old 4X weaver scope. I also got the original 4X Wollensak scope that was put on about 1940. My buddy got the gun from the original owner in 1966 or '67. I have since reunited the original optics to the gun making it as it was back in 1939 or '40. It's in very nice all original shape except for being drilled & tapped for the scope mount bases. An excellent example of a pre- world war 2 factory varmint rig.

What happen when the valves stop working?

Something called varicose veins will occur when the vein valves do not close. It doesn't happen all at once, but usually in various places in the lower legs. If it would happen in all the veins, then the return flow to the heart would be lower. A person would have to wear compression garments on legs and arms. The veins lower in the body are compressed by the muscles so there would not be a problem with them.

What arm is closer to your heart?

The left arm is generally considered closer to the heart, as the heart is located slightly to the left side of the chest. This anatomical positioning means that the left arm is typically nearer to the heart than the right arm. However, it's important to note that both arms are connected to the circulatory system and receive blood flow from the heart equally.
