well after zero and Stanley go to find refuge on gods thumb, they break the curse that madam zeroni had put on the yelnats family, so when they went to find the treasure of coarse zero read what the name was and shocked the warden, also saving Stanley from getting accused from what he didnt do again... so in the end zero is a hero because he broke the curse and got Stanley his treasure!

Zero's name is Hector Zeroni and he is madame Zeroni's grandson

Louis Sachar

In the book "Holes" by Louis Sachar, Zero is described as a small, skinny boy with a shaved head and thick glasses. He is often portrayed as quiet and introverted, with a troubled past that he keeps hidden from others. Despite his physical appearance, Zero is shown to be intelligent and resourceful, forming a strong bond with the protagonist, Stanley Yelnats.

The fictional character Stanley on the show That's So Raven and Cory in the House (2007-2008) was played by Bobb'e J. Thompson, born February 28, 1996. Thompson turned 11 shortly after the spin-off debuted in January 2007.

They survive because when Stanley steals Mr Sirs truck and runs away, he finds Zero. By this time Zero had found a thing called 'sploosh' (parts left from the peaches) and they ate them. They also found Sam's onions and it rained earlier so they drank water from the top of God's Thumb.

Before he got there he thought it would be all fun and games but when he got there it was a punishment for steeling the shoes witch zero of Hector threw off the over pass
