Who believes that the Jewish people were responsible for their part in World War 2 and could the animosity directed towards Jewish people have been warranted.?

Having not been alive at the time, I am looking for a scholars answer to my question.

Hitler had been rejected in his creative endeavors and it was a Jewish person that turned him down. He was very bitter and publicized that Jews were the problem for about everything he could think of.

No matter how hard it was back then for A German-non Jew and a Jewish person to get along, it was nothing like that Hitler would describe.

Whether the Jews ways were hated enough to start such atrocities is unbelievable offensive to even think of.

They used gas chambers. Other times they let them die from starvation, disease, and beatings. Sometimes they had work accidents, were thrown into the furnace, and some were even forced to dig their own grave. Some were shot in a line, others died during death marches, some just lost the will to live, some prisoners tried to escape and a dog killed them or they were shot for trying to escape.

Why did the Germans abandon Auschwitz?

  • The Soviet Army was approaching Auschwitz and the SS guards knew they could expect no mercy at all if they were captured.
  • The SS wanted to cover up what had happened there.
  • The SS also wanted to prevent the liberation of the prisoners, and therefore took them on death marches to other camps inside Germany.

What responsibilities did you think other nations had to stop the persecution of Jews in Germany and German held territories of Europe?

It is very easy to moralize about this in vague, general terms (and get very worked up in the process). However, unless one gives specific, practical suggestions and discusses their viability it is rather fruitless, especially as none of the countries was functioning as a free agent in a vacuum. From 1940 onwards many European countries were under German rule and in no position to do anything as countries.

Why is the little girl red coat in color in the movie Schindlers list?

I interpret this many ways but these are a few of my reasons..

1. to show the innocence and hopefulness (colourfulness rather than dull and gloomy b+w) of the jews, predominantly children during the holocaust.

2. red has connotations of danger and blood and violence and horror. for it to be the only colour in the movie signifies these things.

3. We see it on a young girl, and we follow her through the town and under her bed to hiding. she is active and we familiarise with the character, and then we see the red coat on a death wagon. by getting the audience to become attached to the character and then for them to be killed makes the process more realistic, and more tragic.

4. to give the movie an artistic element, and show that it is a recent productional recount, not a classic movie.

What happened to the people in concentration camp?

Jes were taken to concentration camps where they built walls around it; literally building their own prison. They were slept in tiny spaces and rationed shockingly tiny portions of food per MONTH. The peopel who were good workers lived longer; people who didn't die of starvation or other diseases did not. The sick, lae, useless or weak were first pushed through dark corridors. The reached a blackroom and were lockd in. They were in fact sealed in the back of a van and then gassed to death with carbon monoxide. Then the gas chambers were developed. It was a shocking and appaling crime.

The German Nazis murdered Jews because Hitler led the Germans to believe that the Jews were the source of Germany's economic troubles, and that eliminating them would fix this, as well as other things, such as creating a pure breed of Germans, etc.

Did the Jews outnumber the Nazis?

Yes. There were more Jews than there were high-ranking members of the Nazi Party. However, the Wehrmacht (the German Army) was much larger than either group. The reason that the Nazis were able to commit the atrocities that they did was that there was minimal resistance to their plans and the Jews were unarmed, which made them easier targets.
