How do you get audio through an HDMI cable from my rca surround system to my samsung lcd tv?

HDMI cables contain both the video and the audio signal, so you just plug it in and it should work.

Could a BNC Female to F-Type Coax Male Adapter be used to connect a game console to a TV through a coax cable jack?

If you are using the output of an RF modulator (which is not built in to any current gaming console), you can use many different adapters to attach a signal to the coax cable jack. What you cannot do is use a signal that is a RCA composite or component video output from a game console to attach to the coax cable jack. You will need an external RF modulator to generate a signal to appear on channel 3 or 4 of the TV.

If you have a 3 wire RCA cable with an s-video cable do you have to use the s-video cable?

No, you can use the VIDEO cable instead and just let the S-CABLE hang loose but the S-Connector/Cable will give a better picture so use it if you can.

How do you format a Sony trinitron tv without remote?

Every TV manufacturer that I'm aware, has buttons on the front of the set which will duplicate the functions of the remote control. You could probably start with the `menu' button and then take it from there. But that is not true at least with with Sony Trinitron. The only buttons are "demo", "tv/video", "volume", "channel", "power".

What you can use for rear screen projection?

Rear projection screens are difficult to make. They have to achieve two things in order to work: First, they need to pass light freely. As the projector is behind the screen, the audience in front of it would see nothing if the screen failed to pass light from one side to another. Secondly, they have to prevent light passing straight through or no image would be seen, just the light from the projection lens. The two requirements are in conflict with each other. The more that light is captured by the screen and then dispersed, the less is actually delivered to the viewer. The more that light passes freely through the screen, the more obvious the light source becomes. Screen manufacturers spend a great deal of time and money to produce either rigid or flexible surfaces that meet both requirements and result in an evenly illuminated image. Homegrown equivalents are hard to produce but there are two ways that may produce results. In past times, glass was ground on one side to produce a frosted surface. Glass producers can still carry out the process but the cost is likely to be even higher than purpose made screens. The other option is remarkably low cost. Translucent paper such as tracing paper, baking paper, greaseproof paper etc can be used for small screens. Held flat in a frame, these papers can produce a fairly respectable image. Most certainly, they are not equivalent to a good projection screen, but for cost, they are unbeatable. Finally, stage effects sometimes use a gauze as a screen. The open weave makes them semi transparent and they can be used as a form of rear projection screen. They only work from a distance so for normal rear projection applications they won't be very effective. Treat all of the ideas as experiments and have fun with them.

Does anyone know of any wireless 5.1 surround sound transmitters-and-receivers?

There are only stereo wireless transmitters on the market. Since it is in the same room, just get extension cables for all the wires instead of using an expensive wireless solution.

Why are S video ports better than composite out ports?

The picture is slightly better in some circumstances because the S-Video separates the brightness and color signal from the source on two conductors in the cable. The resolution is the same, and does not effect the audio quality.

If your TV has only S-Video or composite connectors, you may notice no difference in the quality of the picture. The big steps in quality upgrade come when you use a component video or HDMI cable.

How do you remove parental block on a sony tv?

How do you make your sylvania tv DVD combo play dvds again?

Chances are that your DVD player unit in the TV has gone bad. I can't begin to tell you how many of those I had to replace in DVD combo sets over the last few years. I think it's mostly because of the heat generated inside the set from the picture tube.

That doesn't mean to say that the LCD/projection set combo's didn't have their problems, either. My advice is to always buy a separate component for items such as DVD players because all you have now is just a TV. By buying separate, if the DVD player goes out, you'd just trash it and get another one.

How do you know which wire is positive and which wire is negative in the stereo of the car rear specifically?

Is Bose 301 the best home theater?

The Bose 301 Direct reflecting speaker system is very good for home theater, however, due to its design, it is best suited for left, right or surround speakers. Since the sound is designed to partly reflect off a wall, it cannot be used as a center channel speaker. It is also only ideal where all the speakers can be placed the same distance away from the side walls. The best Bose system sold today is the 901, but it is also has a Direct/Reflecting design, and is usually too big to be used as a center channel speaker. The 901 needs to also be positioned at least 1 foot away from a back wall. You should also note that Bose does not sell a matching powered subwoofer for the 301 or 901.
