Hunter-Gatherers

Animal skins, animal bones, wood, etc. It depends what time/era they are in. In an ice age, mammoth bones, mammoth fur, probably some snow, and some other things they might find. Any way, shelter varies at where you are and at what time/era your at, answers may vary.

They believed in something called Dreamtime which was something that started late afternoon and this was where they believed in dreams and their purpose and they believed in spirits and ghosts.

Hunter-gatherers from Mesopotamia mainly relied on a combination of hunting wild game and gathering edible plants for sustenance. They usually used the potent poison from a Poison Dart Frog which were very common and moderately easy to catch. They were easily spotted as they either bright yellow or vibrant blue coloured.

They learned that fire cooked food and cook food is softer and easier for everyone to chew and swallow

Subsistence Hunters

It is believed that hunter-gatherers were nomadic, small family groups. They would move, following the seasons. The males of the family would go hunting for meat, while the children and females would gather seeds, wild fruits, or work on the hides brought in previously by the males. The hides would be made into clothes and bedding. The intestines would be stripped of their contents, twisted and dried to make natural string. It was a precarious existence (there was no supermarket at the end of the road)! As with all human activities, conflict between family groups would occasionally occur - probably the more numerous and stronger males of one group would chase off a lesser group. It was always survival of the group that mattered in the end.

Prehistoric humans hunted the mammoth by surrounding it and then used sharp sticks to kill it.

A long time ago Norwegians made a heavy duty multipurpose hunting instrument called a hakapik. The hakapik, with a medium length handle, has a hammer on its end and a large curved hook on the other side. The hammer side is used to kill seals; the hook is used to drag the seal's body. Many animal rescue groups decry this barbaric practice which is still done every year in some countries.

Hunter gathers hunt animals and look for plants to eat, while farmer-herders grow and raise their own crops in order to eat.
