Depending on the vehicle, I would say there probably isn't any or many vehicles out there where copper is used in structural applications (unless its been alloyed) because most forms of Copper wouldn't give the desirable mechanical properties for the bodywork of a vehicle. But generally the majority of electrical applications in cars contain copper wiring or copper coils of some sort inside the insulated circuit wires and the relay housing and inside the alternator are common places where copper wire is often used. How much in kilograms would be difficult to say. Possibly contacting an engineer based at a manufacturing plant or an electrical component supplier such as Denso Corp or Bosch would be your best bet on actual measurements.

I get 40 mpg from my Honda civic HX coupe.. Honda discontinued the HX trim because the mpg was too close to the hybrid.

The Honda Civic HX did get Hybrid like mileage which is why they probably got rid of the car so that people would by their hybrids. After all, hybrids are supposed to be technologically superior. The only problem with the hybrids is the PRICE. BRING BACK THE HONDA CIVIC HX.

Now some people did have problems with the transmission but it was ONLY with the CVT Transmission which was a newly designed automatic transmission that constantly changed gears to get the best gas mileage. The 5-SPEED Transmission was great, and I got as high as 46 MPG on the Freeway! CIVIC HX 5-Speed was GREAT!

The person below who had problems with the transmission was clearly the CVT transmission. They failed to mention that, which is a big difference.

They didn't discontinue it because of the gas mileage but because of a sh!!ty transmission. MY family member's tranny used to go out every other year, as much as I like hondas, the HX was crap.

WHEN THEY ARE ABLE TO PRODUCE MORE OF THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS - MASS PRODUCTION = LOWER COSTS. SOME OF THESE UNITS ARE NOT ONLY COSTLY TO BUILD BUT ALSO TO REPAIR, SOME BATTERY UNITS FOR THESE VEHICLES ARE AROUND $5000

In the future, hybrid cars will cost roughly the same to repair, as there will be many more on the road.

Hybrid card have become so popular that almost all car manufacturers around the world are developing their own models in a bid to be the best. Not really. If you buy a Prius it will take you more than 5years to START saving money. You'd be better off buying a cheap petrol or diesel car that does just as good or better MPG

I believe they should not because I am more of a small-government type and I would classify that move, even if it is done over many many years (which it would have to be) to be imposing on freedom of trade and business. They can encourage the purchase of electric cars, but not enforce it.
