What is better for people to use electric cars or gas cars?
It depends. The thing with electric cars is how often one stops. If the car is idle for a certain period of time, then the gas engine turns off (this is way electric cars save so much gas, besides the fact that the gas engine itself is designed to use fuel as effiently as possible and still go forward). What this would translate too in the real world would be that: a--if you happen to start and stop alot (let's say, on your commute through the city) then it would be wise to consider a electric car; also, if you tend to drive a lot and a lot by yourself, then go green. b--if you do not drive often or have a long commute, with few stops and/or you're driving a carpool group, consider a gas car (on the plus side, regular cars are getting more effecient themselves, just research the make). Lastly, remember that electric cars aren't exactly powerful--sometimes it may have difficulty or be slow going up steep inclines especially if one were carrying alot of weight.
Hope this helps!
What does hybrid mean in the context of car design?
Multiple power sources, typically gasoline and electric.
How does a hybrid car gain energy when the brakes are applied?
Hybrid cars use bi fuels for mechanical torque by the engine and also to energize the electric battery that provides the mechanical torque to the wheels where electric motors and generators are attached. During acceleration by the motion of the wheels, the kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy by the generators to charge the battery. When applying brakes the engine switches off and the momentum of the wheels is transferred to flywheels by a clutch/gear system that keeps energizing the batteries by the generators even when the acceleration becomes zero.
Why are hybrid cars better for the planet?
They are not. The slight difference in mileage they get is offset by the increased pollution in construction and they cost more to run due to the higher maintenance costs.
What types of brakes does a hybrid car use?
These are the cars that use two types.
In what ways could governments support the use of electric or hybrid cars?
It really should not (and legally is not) the business of Government to push any type of auto. The market will buy cars that work.
Electric cars are a few years away yet as the range is just too short for most people to be interested in them.
Hybrids are wildly expensive and produce no positive environmental effect. They do save a small amount of fuel, compared to other autos of their same class. The cost difference though still makes hybrids a terrible investment and are still merely a feel good technology.
What are the benefits of using a hybrid car?
Well, it doesn't trash the world like a truck would and it saves you money too.
Electric cars r good 2 except for charging but the electric cars fuel is cheaper so it it is better
Why are h parameters known as hybrid parameters?
Every linear circuit having input and output terminals can be analysed by four parameters- 1 measured in ohms;
- 1 measured in mho;
- 2 are dimensionless
are called h parameters.
Hybrid means 'mixed'. Since these parameters have mixed dimensions, they are also called HYBRID PARAMETERS.
These parameters are used to specify a transisitor performance conveniently for small voltages and currents in a particular circuit.
What is the combination that the hybrid cars made of?
combustion engine and an electric battery
gas powered and electric powered
Are hybrid cars safer than gasoline cars?
There has been no confirmation that hybrid cars are in any way safer than gasoline cars.
There are dangers associated with hybrids that are not found in conventional autos. The batteries contain a large amount of potential energy that can be released in an accident.
Sparks from broken wires can create fires. There are also issues associated with the smaller amounts of passenger compartment metal.
What are the Customer reasons for purchase of hybrid car?
lack of charisma. making a car uses more energy than a car will use in 40 to 50 years. therefore the most environmentally freindly option is to run an old car for as long as possible. hybrids use a lot of energy to manufacture, not very fuel efficient due to increased weight and have a relatively short lifespan.
so basically people buy them at the moment due to being misguided by advertising. I think I will stick to my old Pontiac and keep my carbon footprint lower.
What is the difference between hybrid cars and normal cars?
First: How do you not know this? (sorry)
Second: A hybrid car is a car powered by electricity, while a normal car is powered by gas. Hope this helps!
How does a hybrid vehicles work?
They have a gas powered generator that charges a battery which drives an electric motor to move the car.
What are the most common hybrid car problems?
The most common problem from what I can tell is battery failure. This car needs a much stronger battery than a normal car, and they are still working out the technical side of this.
Why are hybrid cars bad for the environment?
Because they are owned by environmentalists that constantly spew hot air out of their oversized mouths and create global warming!
They used a great deal more energy and create far larger amounts of pollution when being made. The largest single polluting factor for any car occurs when it is scraped. Hybrids are junked fa sooner then real automobiles. Thus, there is zero environmental savings and some possible negative issues.
well..!
According to me it is save to enviroment, becoz recently Mercedes-benz 2010 hybrid build and it use no fuel till 80km/p,till 80km/p it's charges by solar system.
what r u goin to say for dat????????
How can solar energy help fuel Hybrid cars?
A hybrid car has two engines: one runs on gasoline, the other runs on electricity.
Solar energy can be captured to produce electricity, and this can be used to charge up the batteries of a hybrid car.
This saves gasoline which is running short all over the world.
The idea of solar panels helping hybrids is fun and cute, but extremely not workable under present technology. A 75 watt solar panel could produce about 1/2 horsepower over a two minute period IF the batteries could be charged under full sun for ten hours. A smart car has a 71 horsepower engine in it (for reference purposes) The average area inside the USA gets less then four hours of full sunlight per day. The level of help a solar panel would provide is nothing compared to the cost of the panel. Solar is completely useless in terms of energy for a automobile.
Answer:
Current hybrid cars are not capable of being charged from an outside source. All charging comes from power that is generated by the gas engine. You don't plug in a hybrid car for recharging. Electric solar cars are still a possibility for the future. The biggest problem with a solar operated car is the placement of the solar collectors. With future technology, the ability to capture solar energy with less surface area could make a solar vehicle more viable. The other part of the equation is having a storage battery pack that is efficient. Again, with newer technology, both of these objectives could be met.
How much mails difference between hybrid car and Dessel car?
Hybrid car is a small car in which there can be sit less than 3 person and dessel car is totally different to Hybrid car and dessel car can run in any roads without any problem.
Can a hybrid SUV cross a shallow creek or stream?
Definition, Shallow is less than 1/2 the height of the tires.
Then answer is YES
A lot of car manufacturers do not enjoy talking about the cost of hybrid batteries. Before you go ahead and purchase a hybrid car, you need to be sure that you can afford the cost of replacing the battery. You should also be sure that the warranty of your car covers new batteries every 8 to 10 years. A full set of hybrid batteries is very expensive, often costing about $3,000.
Not all hybrid cars are alike. Many people simply assume that every hybrid has the ability to save them hundreds of dollars in gas purchases within a year. The truth is, however, that hybrids vary greatly in their performance on the roads and highways. One hybrid may require more gasoline than another hybrid. You should always try to narrow down your list of potential hybrids by doing research.
