Can you take Tylenol and methocarbamol?

Yes.

However you should NOT mix NSAIDS - Motrin (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen), etc. with aspirin. Tylenol can be safely mixed with many other drugs including aspirin & narcotics that do not already contain Tylenol (acetaminophen).

But ALWAYS check with your doctor or pharmacist first!

Can you give your 70 lb collie one half of an Advil tablet?

No but you can give them a childrens aspirin or half of an adult aspirin

AnswerThe best thing to do is ask your vet. I have been breeding and raising dogs for my whole life. I have never instructed as a vet tech for the Army, or had my vet instruct me to give my dog something as strong as Advil. At the most I have given a baby aspirin, 1, or even a half of one, depending on the size of my dog. But then again, only on the instructions of my vet. You should do the same. You don't want to poison your pet.

Can you take tramadol prior to surgery?

I would have to say yes, I have taken it before my surgery and had no issues. You may have to check with your Dr though if you are instructed not to take anything that thins your blood. Tramadol is not a blood thinner it is an opiate antagonist which means in simple terms is like an opiate but without giving you much of a high...in simple terms it fills in the gaps of what an opiate would do in the brain in some ways. Its a pain killer for mild to moderate pain as far as I am aware. It is better to check with your Dr though for all matters and depending on the surgery my advice might not be right for you?

Can you take 1000mg ibuprofen instead of 500mg?

If the total dosage is the same then there should be no noticeable difference. However, the lower dosage tablets may be a faster-releasing dose than the higher, so taking all at once could shock your system and bring about unwanted side-effects. If in doubt, always follow the label's instructions and never mix drugs or dosages without advice from a doctor regarding their interactions.

Very good answer, except that, in my experience a druggest usually knows more about drugs than the average physician. Most drug stores can answer these questions.

Can you take Ibuprofen if allergic to aspirin?

In low dosages, yes it is safe. There are restrictions on who can take these drugs and when/with what other medications, but that is a whole different topic altogether. A

The combination of a salicylate (aspirin) and ibuprofen (which are both NSAIDs) may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advised to not take these two medications together at the same time, especially in high doses. If both medications are needed / required; Ibuprofen should be administered 30-120 minutes after, or at least 8 hours before, aspirin. It is also advised to talk to your doctor when combining these two drugs.

Also, aspirin and ibuprofen cancel out each others effects and shouldn't be taken together.

-Aspirin is taken to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Like ibuprofen it also relieves fever, pain and inflammation.

-Ibuprofen is taken to relive pain, fever and inflammation with less effect on platelets

According to the Mayo Clinic (related link) taking ibuprofen greatly reduces the benefits of daily aspirin therapy.

The best advice is almost always TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR.

If the use of both drugs is unavoidable, use aspirin first, then wait for 4 hours before using ibuprofen.

Answer:

You shouldn't be mixing aspirin with anything, or mixing ibuprofin with anything.

Aspirin has been known to cause Reys Syndrome in children under 19.

Follow the dosages on the box with the aspirin or the ibuprofin.

I don't recommend taking both together, unless specifically told so by a doctor.

Ibuprofin can cause stomach bleeding in large doses, so choose wisely.

Use of aspirin with other pain relievers (such as Tylenol, ibuprofen, naproxen sodium, ketoprofen or prescription pain relievers) is not recommended, unless directed by your doctor.

Can you take Advil Sinus with Clarinex?

Yes. As long as you are not taking any medicines which are contraindicated with either. That is just a big word meaning you are not taking any meds that you cannot take with either advil or claritin. If you are having allergies and stufiness, advil is probably a good idea. It will help to decrease inflammation and sinus pain. When in doubt, call your doctor or a pharmacist. I have found pharmacists to be a great resource. Hope this helps!

Is it okay to insert ibuprofen near the cervix to induce miscarriage?

i dont think doing that would help in any way. I may be wrong but its more likely to disolve or just work its way out. if it disolves it could cause severe pain and maybe olcers. ibroprofen can make the chance of misscaraige higher ,obviosly has to enter the blood stream first. i dont know how the vagina can break down the drug so maybe it will do nothing . but if it was ibroprofen heat rub wich has skin absorbing characteristics it may cause problems.

You have to wait 12 hours between dosage. You can wait 10 hours but you will have that zing feeling and you breathing may become labored. Your lungs may collapse if you don't have a mass rush of blood to your brain and it shuts down making you become a vegetable.

How many ml is 130 mg of ibuprofen?

This is not a valid conversion. Milliliters (mL or ml) and liters (L) are measures of volume. Grams (g), kilograms (kg) and milligrams (mg) are measures of weight or mass. You can convert (using complex formulas), though i really don't see the need of knowing the dosage in milliliters unless you are melting it.

In order to tell how many ml of liquid ibuprofen, you must know how many mg is in each ml - once you provide that number, we can calculate the number you need.

What is the dosage of Ibuprofen for a 50 dog?

1st Answer:

Ibuprofen is toxic to dogs and cats -- their livers cannot process it. The dosage is NONE.

2nd Incorrect Answer:

Ibuprofen can be toxic to dogs and cats in very low doses. Yes their livers can process it. The recommended dosage is 2.5 mg/lb every 12 hours. Now the dosage has a very small safe window so there are much better choices. It is only a choice if you have no access to a vet in the short term.

3rd Answer:

NO Ibuprofen should NEVER be used with dogs or cats. You can use buffered aspirin instead. The dog should be taken to a Veterinarian to be checked out. The Vet can then recommend the appropiate medication. Ibuprofen is never a CHOICE for dogs or cats.
