There is no such thing as a Goya Guitar from 1946. Goya guitars saw first light in 1952/53 and were made by The Levin Guitar Company in Gothenburg Sweden. Goya was the trademark used for the export to the north American market. Initially they were marked with serial numbers from the same list as the Levin branded instruments from the same company, but this changed sometime in the late 1950:s when a separate number series were started, and there does not appear to be any reference to these numbers existing today. Some numbers used on these Goyas may indicate that the instrument is older if they are matched in the serial lists of Levin instruments. If it has a mahogany top (dark wood), I have seen a few of them, for sale on the web, between 300 and 800USD (the most expensive was absolutely new! after 30 years!).

If solid state and no Leslie, um, you may have to pay somebody to haul it away.

The extant serial number list for Kimball would indicate it was built about 1904.

If it is the Universal Piano Company from Los Angeles, California, the piano would have been made sometime between 1981 and 1984. If you open the lid and look on the right hand side of the "motor" there should be a date stamped/etched in telling you when it left the factory.

Without a serial number, it is impossible to tell how old this or any instrument would be. Even a picture or detailed description of the unit would at least allow someone to narrow down a range of years (if not serial was available).

According to bluebookofpianos.com, an Acrosonic piano with this serial number would have been manufactured in 1964.

One can buy recorders and other musical instruments in any local musical instruments store. It is a good idea to go to a physical store so that one can try out the instruments and get a feel for them before buying.

To be specific, it is not really considered an entry level guitar overall as Gibsons for one are much more expensive than most beginning guitarists can afford and appreciate. The Les Paul studio is basically the lower end of the spectrum of that particular body style within Gibson, as it offers a more stripped down appearance; craftsmanship is lessened, the parts are not as quality, no binding (which is generally to keep it comfortable to play, as non bound guitars often have an issue with the fret wire cutting your fingers when you move across the neck.) Studios also have different pickups than their $2100-6000 range. They are not bad pickups at all, but are not as quality. Think, in the guitar world what you pay for is what you get in almost all cases.

I would not suggest a Les Paul studio for a beginner, but instead opt for the Epiphone line of Les Pauls which offer great quality and are in a more mid price range. Generally 4-700 bucks. That way, they know they have a good enough guitar to keep for a few years while they get better at playing so it inspires them to continue, but also its not so expensive that they have to worry too much about it getting damaged. I don't necessarily suggest complete bottom feeder guitars for beginners nowadays because they are poorly made, hard to play, and if a beginner isn't attached to his first instrument, chances are he/she won't continue to play. Guitar is an expensive hobby/pastime/profession to waste the money and honestly, most people starting out nowadays just don't have the attention span to keep going, so its best not to get them discouraged.

Remember, the Gibson Les Paul in general is almost like a right of passage for most of us guitar players, so when someone sees a little kid who hasn't learned anything but is walking around with a $5,200 1959 reissue Gibson Les Paul, its HIGHLY frowned upon. When said beginner really is serious and proves that they are purely dedicated to that initial instrument(s), then they should progress to a higher quality guitar, as it will be appreciated and they will understand the value that goes into having such a high quality guitar.

I want to point out one more thing, as someone who owns expensive Les pauls. If you are considering getting a Gibson, stay away from the 'studio' models and save up for a 'standard' at the very least. In the long run it'll be much more worth it because you won't find yourself lusting after the higher end models quite as quickly (we call it GAS or Gear Acquisition Syndrome..guitars are like potato chips, one isn't quite enough when you get serious).The 2008 'standard' models are very well received and some of the best they have done in the low $2,000 range in a long time. After about $2,500, that's where you start to get the REALLY nice Gibsons, like the ones built in the custom shop

It would be hard to name a single brand as being the best. There are many luthiers out there that make custom ukuleles and they are probably the best. There are several dozen companies that make stringed instruments that are well liked. Martin Ukuleles are well thought of, but there are a dozen makers in Hawaii that have their advocates.

The Yamaha US-1 in terms of aesthetic and musical beauty is undoubtedly one of the best organs Yamaha has ever made. The organ and orchestral sounds rival and in many ways exceed the sounds of the the newest electronic organs.

Not only can it be used as a personal instrument, but would serve a college, church or synagogue. In excellent condition the Yamaha US-1 could easily fetch $6,000.00 if you can find one. They are rare because personal and/or institutional owners just don't want to give them up.

Gibson's have serial numbers and there is a site called Kelly blue book. There are other though. Careful with Gibson's, they change the format of their serial number every few years. You will need this number for any accurate appraisal. Another way is to go to a well established shop and ask them.

The serial number of a clarinet is generally located on the back of the upper joint.
