What should be your primary concern when creating an arrangement with informal balance?
You would want to think about visual balance without using symmetry. An example might be placing a sofa on one side of a seating group, and a lounge chair or two opposite from it to achieve a balanced look in the room, without creating an exact duplicate on both sides. Or perhaps a shelf or fireplace mantel with one round vase on one end and two or three slim vertical candlesticks on the other. The look would be informally balanced, but not symmetrical.

It can. Burt be careful of the "bluish" part of the grey. It might make the room look "bedroomy." Better to have a grey that goes more to taupe - which is an excellent color to compliment soft yellow.

Not very thick. Many building codes (perhaps most) allow 3/4 inch waferboard or 5'8 inch plywood as the structural subfloor over 16" O.C. joists.
This is fine for normal sized floors with carpet or vinyl overlay, but is insufficient for very large floors or floors to be finished in ceramic, slate or porcelain tiles.
How do you replace gas fireplace switch?
This depends on the switch. A lot of older fireplaces have a millivolt valve with a toggle-switch sticking out. We usually remove the toggle switch and run the 2 wires that were connected to the toggle to a remote receiver box. This way any simple remote transmitter will act like an electrical toggle switch. Most receivers will recognize hundreds of thousands of signals so this is usually very convenient and takes about 3 minutes to turn a manual switch into a remote switch.

How do you get the square footage of a room when the room is 8 feet wide and 8 feet long?
Length x width = area
8 feet x 8 feet = 64 sq ft (square feet)
Well, first you have to find out what is the price of one. Divide 259 by 5 to get the price of one chair. You get $51.80 for one; then multiply it by the number of chairs you want. In this case by 6 and you get $310.80
Lineal meters to square meters?
There can be no conversion. A lineal metre is a measure of length in 1-dimensional space while a square metre is a measure of area in 2-dimensional space. The two measure different things and, according to basic principles of dimensional analysis, any attempt at conversion from one to the other is fundamentally flawed.

King size mattresses are quite a bit larger than full size. But it wouldn't considered good practice in interior design.
What is the definition of modern interior design?
Technically speaking, in interior design the word "Modern" refers to a specific period in US design history that occurred during the mid-20th century. It's best recognized by clean lines, well-made, iconic furniture whose designs still have relevance today.
The word "modern" is also sometimes also used synonymously with "contemporary" when people are describing what is current in the culture at the moment. For this reason many designers refer to the historical design style as "Mid-Century Modern" to distinguish it from other conversational descriptors.
