How do you organize your closet?

Otherwise, to begin sorting your things, start with three or four boxes. Label them 'trash', 'donate', 'sell' and 'keep/wash'. (The fourth box can be a hamper.)
With each item, ask yourself these questions:
Do I wear this?
When was the last time I wore it?
Does it fit?
Is it in good condition?
Do I have room for it?
Is it outdated?
Do I really like it?
Now that you have cleared out the items you no longer want, begin sorting your 'keeper' clothes by whichever method you prefer: Hang shirts and sweaters together by color, sleeve length, neckline, style (fancy or casual), whatever makes it easy for you. Skirts and pants are pretty much the same: length, color, fancy or casual, etc.
You might consider investing in some storage supplies such as pant/skirt hangers, shoe racks, garment bags, and boxes for storing seasonal clothing.
If you store shoes in their shoe boxes, take a photo of the shoe and tape it to the outside of the box. The boxes can be stacked out of the way, yet it is still easy to retrieve the shoes you need.
Put things you don't use often but still want to keep on high shelves or harder to reach places.
