What should you use to wash porcelain tile?
Daily cleanings should include sweeping and damp cloth wiping. A variety of daily cleaners are available; my own favorite is Dupont Stonetech Revitalizer, but there are many others. Miracle Sealants makes a good one, too. To really get the tile clean you will want to use a mildly acidic cleaner but these should not be used frequently as over time they will damage the grout, the base mortar, and perhaps even the tile. If, after installation, your tile looks icky and dirty and has white residue, you will need a grout haze remover. Follow the directions carefully to minimize damage to the grout. Significant buildup of wax, sealant, etc., can be removed with Citristrip, available at most large hardware stores. After using haze remover, Citristrip, or other harsh products, you will want to reseal the tile. I use Miracle Sealant "511 Impregnator."
How do you measure walls of a room in square footage?
The length times the height of the wall will give you the square footage of that wall. Do that for both the long and short walls, and multiply the result by two. If the room is square, just measure one wall, find the square footage, and multiply by four. Don't forget to measure the length and height of any doors and windows, and subtract the total from the area of the walls.

LIGHT, VIEWS, AND VISABILITY
- Downard tilting, as seen from the inside, permits direct light from the sky to enter, but blocks the horizontal view. If the slats are the same angle as the sun, very little light will be reflected into the room, but furnishings in the direct sunlight will invariably fade.
- Acute angled upward tilting prevents most sunlight from entering. The horizontal view will also be totally blocked.
- Horizontally positioned slats can bring reflected light into the room, the sunlight or light from the sky reflecting off the horizontal surfaces of the slats, sending light upwards, and in all directions. A horizontal view to the outside will be possible through the slats, but, if privacy is desired, it may be worth noting that people passing nearby may be able to look directly into the room.
WARMTH
If there are radiators under the blinds, attention may need to be paid to their position in relation to hot air flows from the heating units. Downward slanting may channel hot air out from the room and into the window area, whereas upward slanting will retain more of the warm air circulation within the room.
APPEARANCE
Of course, if the venetian blinds have just one attractive surface, many would tilt the blinds so that the attractive surface is innermost to some degree. In most cases this would mean tilting them downwards, with the upper surfaces facing the room.
SAFETY/SECURITY/PRIVACY
If you have windows that are on the bottom floor or have windows that can be seen by neighbors... tilt the blinds so that anyone who may try to peak in will only see the ceiling. This direction is very useful for any time of the year anyway.

There is no standard height for a door viewer. The door viewer should be positioned so that the majority of people can use it, which will mean low enough to accommodate a majority of short people, because taller people can bend down to use it.
