Can you sue Mirena birth control for getting pregnant?
not sure what the outcome will be but me and my wife have expirienced several problems with mirena since she had it put in July or august 2010 and we also are getting ready to sue
her symptoms include:
BV
Yeast Infection (which spread to me)
Cramps
A bad vaginal smell
Genital itching
Depression
Bleeding/Spotting
Headaches
Bloating
Hair Loss
Pain during sex
and other people have had many other symptoms to it Breast cancer being one of the symptoms. the doctors never told us about any of the symptoms, all they said was that it could cause bleeding for a little while but would clear up gradually. well it clears up then comes back. they gave us absolutely no symptoms. also if you have no shot at sueing the mirena company, if your doctor did not tell you breast cancer was a symptom you could sue your doctor we are suing BOTH mirena and the doctor.
hope i helped
Does the IUD lose effectiveness as years go by?
No. It is made of a kind of plastic that is impregnated with various kinds of contraceptive. The dose is very low and is released very slowly into your body over the length of time you have it. It is not more effective when you first get it. Eventually the effectiveness will wear off, but there have been extensive tests carried out on these implants and the lifespan is worked out to make sure it won't expire before you get it removed. Unlike oral contraceptives you don't have to worry about stomach upsets and I believe there are fewer conflicts with other medications than with OCP. Hope this helps. L
IUD insertion is a form of birth control available to people looking to avoid getting pregnant. The most common type of IUD is a copper IUD which acts as a spermicide when in the uterus.
Why do you bleed everyday with IUD?

Where do IUD strings go if they get lost?
Some men feel them during intercourse, that is one way - the other is to insert your finger and use a sweeping motion to feel for the string. If you can't feel them, bare down (as if you were having a bowel movement).
Never try pulling on them, you could end up with a perforated cervix or uterus.
If all else fails go in to see your MD or midwife, they can tell you very quickly if the IUD is in place, it is rare but the IUD occasionally may slip out un-noticed, so if the strings are not where you remember feeling them, see your doctor.
What are some ethical reasons people object to IUD and ius?
IUD allows the egg to be fertilized and then stops it from developing in the womb. As it is fertilized many people class it as a life, and so it is like having an abortion each month.

Yes, the copper IUD (intrauterine device), brand-named Paragard in the US, can cause irregular periods, heavier periods and increased cramps. These side effects are more common in the first six months after the IUD is inserted. The Mirena IUD, which contains levonorgestrel, may cause irregular periods in the first months of use, but over time you can expect fewer periods and less bleeding.

The IUD belongs at the top of your uterus. That is its normal location. You will know if it is moving up into your uterus because your healthcare provider is seated between your knees inserting it.

You can have a new IUD inserted at the same time the old one is removed.
How do you know when your IUD has gone wrong?
As your medical provider explained, you must check for the strings of the IUD on a monthly basis. Generally, if you cannot feel the strings when you do your monthly check, that is an indication that the IUD is out of place. See your doctor as soon as possible and either abstain from sex or use a back-up until you know that it is safe.
The risk of puncture (perforation) is very small but does happen occasionally. Having the IUD inserted and removed by a skilled practitioner reduces the risk. You should never attempt to remove an IUD by yourself.
