No it is not a parasite. The Portuguese Man-of-War is a colony of organisms that form what many think is a jellyfish. But the Portuguese Man-of-War is not a jellyfish it is a siphonophore. But it does share some similarities to a jellyfish. It has tentacles that contain poison stinging cells. And the top part of the organism is a gas filled bubble. The Man-of-War can be deadly to humans depending on were you are stung and how big you are.
A Parasite is an organism that benefits off of its host at the expense of the host.

i don't think so because they will only be in their defensive mode . if we stamp them liquid comes out of their bodies which mean they are dead so its a no for me . they cant play dead
