Why are you a Christian when you are supposed to be a Muslim?

A:Christians believe that God's purpose is for all of us to be Christians. For them, Islam is a false faith, so a high ideal is to convert Muslims to Christianity.

Muslims believe that God's purpose is for all of us to be Muslims. For them, Christianity is a false faith, claiming Jesus to be divine, so a high ideal is to convert Christians to Islam.

Neither faith can disprove the claims of the other without undermining the entire basis of religion. I am neither Christian nor Muslim.

How much is the Zakat or the alms giving pillar of the Five Pillars?

Zakat or alms-giving is the practice of charitable giving by Muslims based on accumulated wealth, and is obligatory for all who are able to do so. It is considered to be a personal responsibility for Muslims to ease economic hardship for others and eliminate inequality.

Zakat consists of spending 2.5% of one's wealth for the benefit of the poor or needy, including slaves, debtors and travelers. A Muslim may also donate more as an act of voluntary charity (sadaqah), in order to achieve additional divine reward.

There are two main types of Zakah:

  • First, there is the kajj or Zakat elfitr, which is a fixed amount based on the cost of food that is paid during the month of Ramadan by the head of a family for himself and his dependents.
  • Second, there is the Zakat on wealth or Zakat elmal, which covers money made in business, savings, income, and so on. In current usage Zakat is treated as a 2.5% collections on most valuables and savings held for a full lunar year, as long as the total value is more than a basic minimum known as nisab (three ounces or 87.48g of gold). Many Shi'ites are expected to pay an additional amount in the form of a khums tax, which they consider to be a separate ritual practice.

There are four principles that should be followed when giving the Zakah:

1. The giver must declare to Allah his intention to give the Zakah.

2. The Zakah must be paid on the day that it is due. It could be arranged to pay it within certain Hijra month every year.

3. Payment must be in kind. This means if one has a lot of money then he needs to pay 2.5% of his income. If he does not have much money, he needs to pay in a different way. For example, if he has a lot of cattle, then he pays in cattle instead of money.

4. Some say (not sure personally) that the Zakah must be distributed in the community from which it was taken.

What do Muslim men think about non Muslim women?

All mankind, males and females, are equal in Islam. The only difference between a woman and a man in Islam is the physical differences related to the organs of production which in female have more effects on her daily prayers if she has mensturation. Mensturation can prevent her from doing her daily prayers until she is pure whe she start again but should not go back and compensate for the previous prayers she lost. Only fasting must be compensated for.

The rest of her life and worship acts are exactly the same like man.

So, a woman is a woman whether she is a Christian or Jew. Only a Muslim man can marry Christians and Jews because they are peope lf the book and we believe in Jesus Christ, Moses and all Allah's prophets and messengers back to Adam "peace and blessings be upon them all", while a Muslim woman cannot. * See below

But also a Muslim man cannot marry other than Christian or Jew females.

this answer improved as above

Men are half and women complete them. Together man and woman shall live in love, respect, and harmony. Start a family and raise children and try to make earth a better place to live on.

Islam respect women and treat them in an amazing way, read the Quran and see for your self (Do not read people, because lots of people do not live according to the Quran).

* "

Muslims are allowed to marry Christian and Jew women too because they have a book of revelation just like Muslims.

Islam respects previous revelations such as the Torah and the Bible and previous ones. As such, a Muslim husband will allow a his Christian or Jew to practice her religion freely without any problem. Yes we prefer that she convert to Islam, better for her as she will become a believer as should be according to the old scripture, but she will not be obliged to do so. Children will of course follow their father in his religion and eventually become Muslims. In fact all children, regardless of their parents faith, they are all born Muslims "by Fitra" meaning born on the oath taken from them before the creation of this universe by Allah the almighty.

NOW! if a Muslim woman is married to a non-Muslim, then she will not be allowed to practice her religion freely since Christians and Jews and other faiths hate Islam and do not acknowledge prophet Mohamme pace be upon him as messenger of God. A man is always stroner than the women and affects her man than she does to him.

Also, the children will diffenately follow or made to follow their father's religion and in this case we lose them to hell which are ordered to save people from it.

i am a Muslim girl an di know y its cuz a man can force a woman in to doing anything abd did you know a Muslim man can marry a non musllim woman."

Is Justin a Muslim's name?

"Justin" is a Latin name that means "just" (as in "fair" or "having the quality of justice"). The Romans were never a predominantly Muslim culture.

However, there is no reason a Muslim could not be named "Justin". Muhammad forbade names with bad meanings (unclean animals or inappropriate qualities) or those specifically associated with other religions ("worshipper of Manat", etc.). He did not require converts to change their original names if these had acceptable meanings and connotations.

He probably never met anyone named Justin, but it sounds like the type of name he would have allowed.

Why do Muslims hate Jews and Christians considering that Muslims' customs are similar to those of Jews and Christians?

It depends on the Muslim in question. Usually hatred by one group of another group has very little to do with actual differences between the group. In New Guinea, for example, the hatred between numerous tribes that look identical to unaccustomed foreigners is quite strong and their mutual feelings towards Westerners, who are much more different are much more muted. Muslim hatred for Jews and Christians comes primarily out of the political problems of history. Most recently, Christians in the Balkans and Jews in Israel revolted against the Muslims in pursuit of ethnoreligious nationalism. The Jews and Christians argue that they were second-class citizens under Islamic control and revolted in order to restore equality and the prominence of their traditions. Muslims saw it as being stabbed in the back for centuries of tolerance. These political squabbles manifest in hatreds of the ethnoreligious groups that engaged in those nationalist experiments. This then primes those Muslims who are particularly outraged when they look at the History of Islam to see a consistent message of mandated hatred where one does not exist.

How long do Muslims need to be to fast?

Muslims have to fast for 30 days. they cant talk to no other women besides their wife and they cant listen to no other music besides Allah songs.

******

That is totally crap! For one Muslims can fast whenever they want. Rahmadan would be the only exception with which it is obligatory for the Muslim to fast the entire month of Rahmadan during the daylight hours only. And as far as the music goes, music is haram(prohibited) and there is no such thing as Allah songs. I think what the previous answerer meant was songs about Allah which still hold no merit of being permissable. The Quran is the word of Allah and when recited the whole book rhymes, which may sound like a song to someone who has not heard much of the Quran or who doesnt have a clear understanding of Islam or the Quran, which there is nothing wrong with.

According to Islamic belief what was the source of Islamic teachings and how did Muhammad receive them?

What religions does Islam stem from?

A:No, Islam did not break away from any other religion. Muslims believe that Islam was the original religion of God, revealed to Muhammad because Judaism and Christianity had strayed from God's true path. Jews and Christians believe that Muhammad learnt about their faiths from the many Jews and Christians in the Arabian peninsula and that he developed Islam from that knowledge, but not that he broke away from either religion in a literal sense.

__________________________________________________________

It is true; as mentioned above; that Islam religion didn't break away from any religion. However, It should be confirmed that Muhammad (PBUH) didn't develop Islam the same way neither Moses (PBUH) developed Judaism nor Jesus (PBUH) developed Christianity. Islam is God religion developed by God since start of universe creation. Islam means submission and surrender to God the Creator and all God creations (including mankind) were created on submission (Islam) to God. Refer to questions below for more information.
