The New Ithaca Double was made from 1926 to 1948, and was the last double gun manufactured by the factory. External cocking indicators were standard until 1934, when they were eliminated from the design. Selective and non-selective single triggers and ejectors were optional at additional cost. Lke most collectible shotguns, the smaller guages command a price premium (with the exception of the Magnum 10 of which only 850 were made). It was produced in 8 different grades. This gun deserves the attention of an expert appraiser, as some grades in excellent condition could put your kid through college.

The Model is "37," with the grade identified by a name (such as "Featherlight" or "Deerslayer") or a letter. Otherwise, it is a Field Grade, either Standard (2 3/4" chamber) or Magnum (3" chamber). That particular gun was made in 1937. The Ithaca Western Long Range was made from 1929 to the start of WW II. I cannot help with the exact date.

Look again! The guage and grade are usually found together on the water table, and a Grade 5 (not "S") would be a highe end, and probably valuable, gun.

It all depnds on the quality of the guns wear and condition and how much someone wants a gun that is hard to find replacement parts for and when you do they are not cheap. In excellent "like new" condition - between $500 and $650 In good condition - between $350 and $500 In "field" condition - between $200 and $400 You can find replacement stocks on E-bay for $100+ Value with a cut down stock will be less than an original 14 inch (LOP)- length over pull.

i think they were from the 70's. I guess many were made for Western Auto and alot of people know it as the western auto 22. I just bought one ( not marked Western Auto) at a gun show in pretty nice condition for $75 so they are not very valuable but a cool little gun for 75 bucks

There are several models of the Favorite, but very little difference in the Catalog values for most of them. If you know it was made in 1915, that narrows it down to the No. 14 1/2 Little Scout, No. 65 Little Krag, No. 12 Marksman, and No. 26 Crack Shot. And the .32 seems to rule out the first two of those from the reference I have at hand. All four are listed with a retail value of $125 in NRA Poor condition and $275 in Excellent condition. If it is a smoothbore version of the No. 26, it lists $25 higher in the top grade, the same in the lowest grade, and $25 less in the mid grades. Since there were over 1 Million of the various Favorites made (not counting the revival in 1971-72 and 1999), there are a lot of them available, but since they were inexpensive and usually a boy's first rifle, there are very few in top condition. To clarify the first answer: Although a lot of folks call all the Stevens boys' rifles a "Favorite," the Favorite is a specific model apart from the Crackshot, Little Scout, Marksman, etc.-- a totally different gun with the exception that the Favorite buttstock will also fit on the Visible Loader. You can find Favorites from less than $100 pretty well used to upwards of $300 in great condition. (The original Favorite with removable side plate is rare and in the thousands!) Some Favorites have the word "Favorite" on the rolling block, some don't. The model with the imprinted 1894 patent date has a leaf-type mainspring; the 1915 model (date on the upper tang) has a coil mainspring. All things being equal, the older model is more valuable, but condition ultimately determines price.

Book value ranges from $280 for a 10% condition gun to $1,000 for one in 100% condition. By the way, are you sure it is a Lewis? All of the 1903 production I have seen are Crass variations. Additinal Answer - According to the table in "Ithaca Gun Company...", the Lewis and NIG were both made in 1903. 1901 was the last year for the Crass.

Your Fox Sterlingworth was made in 1935 by Savage Arms Co. of Utica, N.Y. A.H. Fox originally made its guns in Philadelphia until @ 1930. The 1930-1942 Savage production guns are worth nearly as much as the A.H. Fox made guns. The recent B series guns are just not in the same league. As with all collector guns, value is dependent upon (original) condition. In 98%, a 12 ga Sterlingworth is booked at $1475; and $300 in 10%. Add 33% for auto ejectors and/or 25% for single trigger. This is one that should be taken to a reputable dealer for examination and appraisal.

The serial number suggests that it is a Flues Model Ithaca hammerless double. Without more info, that's all I can tell you. It could be a very valuable gun, so get it appraised. If it is the Flues, it would have been made in 1919. This is from Moe in Iowa..Ithaca Gun Company sold a single shot lever action .22 caliber rifle from 1961-1978. It was the model 49. They also had a model 49R for three years that was a repeater. This was discontinued and the a lever repeater was made which was the Model 72 in the early 70s. The guns themselves were made in Germany by Erma Werke but, reportedly, the wood stocks and forearms were put on by Ithaca in the U. S. However, I am rambling. I bought two Ithaca Model 49 rifles recently and each of them has a a six digit serial number not far off from that listed in the question. One of my serial numbers is 277xxx and the other is 246xxx. In case it is not obvious the x in the serial number represents a digit that I will not reveal just to prevent some type of abuse related to firearms. As you can see the two serial numbers represent numbers relatively close to the questioner's. Note also that the Model 49 was in inexpensive rifle aimed at the boy's market so in 17 years I am sure there were many sold. Thus, there was probably a long string of serial numbers assigned by Ithaca to this firearm model.

Sir, I was offered very nice condition Itahca Featherlite with 30" barrel, very little service for $200 Canadian, yesterday 24Apr05. The gun looks like it may be from the mid-60's. Hope this helps. Stewart

I'm trying to locate the same information. I have tried the bluebookinc.com site and am confused why I can't find any information on a Grade S. There is a Sousa model, which if you and I each have one of the eleven made that would be an eye-opener, not keeping my hope up on that one. My number is 140504, Grade S. Good luck, I'll keep looking. Answer: Both of your ser#'s are for Ithaca, Minier model shotguns manufactured in 1907. The Minier was only mfg from 1906-1908. It replaced the Lewis model. When Ithaca intruduced the Flues model in 1908, sales of the Minier fell to such an extent that most of the guns in inventory were marked as 2nd and sold at a reduced profit. The S12 stamp on the frame signifies it as a 12ga. field grade gun.

What you have is an Ithaca 1915 Flues model. There are wide variations, but it would top out around 600.00 where I have seen in top-notch shape. An Ithaca freak may cough up considerably more than that, I know i have paid way too much for other people's tastes when I wanted one. That is a firearm that depends on the market you have at hand.

If its the model 37 2500 series centenial (silver plated,etched antique finish reciever, deluxe walnut in 95% condition it's $450. 100% $775. If its the bicentenial $325-$595.

Depending on the condition these guns are worth $300.00 to $350.00.These were made in different variations-.22-.22 mag and one model takes .22 short,long and long rifle.
