It's A Wonderful Life

The movie received 4 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. But, no one in any of the 4 categories in which the movie was in the running for, took Oscar home that night in 1946.

The climax of It's a Wonderful Life is when George Bailey realizes how poorly everyone else's life would have turned out if he hadn't existed. When he realizes this, he decides that he wants his life back because it really is wonderful.

In the movie the New York towns of Buffalo, Elmira, and Rochester are mentioned as being close to the made-up Bedford Falls. The New York towns of Chappaqua and Katonah are also brought in on road signs, in Westchester county. They're near the towns of Bedford and Bedford Hills. But the former's a posh community, and the latter doesn't look at all like the Bedford Falls of the movie. A common notion, however, is that the town's based on another New York town, Seneca Falls. And a lot of what's found in the movie can be found in Seneca Falls, such as the very distinctive bridge and the big Italian community.

It's a Wonderful Life was made in 1946, and was set in present day.

Contraptions like that were part and parcel in drugstores around the 1900's, and young boys wold make up games with them until the storekeepers ran them out.

It could, but I hope not. It's A Wonderful Life is such a positive, optimistic movie that something as negative and oppressive as a sequel involving Vietnam would be a real downer.

There is a seldom seen alternate edit to this movie which has Uncle Billy's pet squirrel stealing the $8000 from the desk top and using it for bedding for his nest in the tree outside. The money is never found.

In both edits, in the scene where George and Billy are at the house and George screams at Billy for losing the money and then leaves, Billy, the falls face down on the desk sobbing. At this point the squirrel comes in through the window and climbs on his arm. This seems kind of odd in the context of the most popular edit, but in the alternate edit, this squirrel is key to the storyline.

In this alternate version Potter and his manservant have no knowledge of where the missing money went. This alternate version still paints Potter as a money grubbing old man, but not as a common thief, with his manservant as witness. It would have been easy for this manservant to subsequently blackmail Potter.

It has been argued the Frank Capra classic is an indirect modern adaptation with some changes in the plot, Banker is contemplating suicide-unlike Stand-pat Pre-nightmare Scrooge, -of the Dickens" Christmas Carol. Also Angels are used rather than ghosts or spirits. In effect a modernized Scrooge tale.

There are 3 guys you can marry, Rock, Gustafa, and Marlin. They have diary's somewhere in each of their houses, I can't tell you where but I just know that there are. Then you have to give them what they like the most. There are also heart events that happen with each man. there are 4-5 of them per each guy, then when you have seen all of the heart events in which with the guy you want to marry, and have 4 hearts in his diary, you may give him the blue feather, at th end of the first year, if you have not gave anyone the blue feather, the man with the most hearts will come to your house and ask to marry you. you can decide yes or no, if you pick no your game will end in the next year. Well actually if you are talking about another wonderful life than you can not propose because they will just say "Thats nice" or something like that. But you can propose in a wonderful life as the boy, but you won't get married until the end of the year.

I think George Bailey said it best when he called Potter a "warped, twisted, old man who treat people like cattle."
