What are the petals in George's pocket in It's a Wonderful Life?
In the movie, George Bailey's daughter Zuzu receives a flower as a prize at school and she didn't want to crush it so she didn't button up her coat as she carried it home. As a result, she catches a bit of a cold. When George goes up to check on her, she shows him the flower, which loses a few petals, as picked flowers are wont to do. Zuzu asks George to "paste it". Ever kind-hearted and not wanting to disappoint his sick child, George turns away and pretends to put the petals back on - surreptitiously stuffing them into his vest pocket - and then returning the flower to Zuzu who, not seeing any loose petals, believes her dad has indeed fixed her flower. Later when George is being given his glimpse of what the world would have been like without him, his guardian angel Clarence points out that there are now now petals in his pocket because he never existed and thus neither did Zuzu. When he is restored to his normal life, the petals are back.
Does It's A Wonderful Life come in Widescreen?
No. Widescreen, although first seen in the 1920s, fell out of favor in the 1930s and was not used again until the 1950s (in part as a way for theaters to compete with television, which was greatly hurting their business). "It's a Wonderful Life" was released in 1946, in the standard format for the time.
See the link below for more information on Widescreen versus other film formats. __________________________ Even though there were a few companies making movie film in different sizes over the years, in 1927 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences formally made 1.33 to 1 the industry standard. It became known as the Academy Aperture, and nearly every film made to 1952 used this aperture. In 1931 the Academy Aperture was modified to 1.37 to 1 to accomodate sound.

The two are both Christmas classics, but with different story lines.
The message the movie Scrooge (A Christmas Carol) conveys is: Keep Christmas in your heart all throughout the year.
It's a Wonderful Life, on the other hand, conveys the message that: Every life affects another therefore should not be taken for granted.
It just so happens that the atmosphere portrayed in both movies centers around the Christmas holidays.
