gear oil. 75W-90 mobil 1 synthetic works good for me. also 80w-90 or 80w-140 would also be ok. use a reputable brand name oil.

You have to remove the entire fender assembly. Remove the 2 hold down bolts under seat pan and the two hold down bolts down by where your feet rest on the fender pan. Also unscrew adjustment knob between legs in front of seat. Once fender assembly is removed you should have good access to fuel line. Replace fuel filter while you are at it.

Briggs and stratton is actually the engine make, it also has a hydrostatic drive to them. It also has a rear wheel drive and has forward variable speeds, the power of the engines are normally 19.5 (hp)

The neutral switch is screwed into a fitting in the top half of the transaxle.

I'm trying to find out the same thing, but am currently only interested in the 48" version to replace what I currently have. Local dealer provided an answer that there are 3 models..2 smaller than the 48". The model number for 48" is bm18365. You can still buy them new for around $1,029.00 plus tax. Am told that you cannot order certain parts for this deck as they have been discontinued. Hope this helps.

A 2155 w/o 4wd holds 50 qts of hydraulic fluid. A 4wd takes 53.2 qts.

I would take a good guess that your tractor was made in 1969. To find out 101% sure, ask your John Deere dealer.

You have to remove the pulley and unbolt all connections. There is of course a special puller for this operation however if you use a couple pry bars, some heat and a hammer it will come off...be careful you don't bend anything

Thanks to Awan318 for the lead about the "Group" number. I guess "Group" is Deere-talk. My original Deere battery needs replacing. It says Group 51, but I didn't realize that was a proper battery number, so thanks for setting me straight. Now that I know what I'm searching for, I'm starting to get results.

Interstate shows an MT-51R and an I-51. The MT-51R has 500 CCA (cold cranking amps). The I-51 has 425 CCA, which is a lower capacity, lower power, costs $6 less, and it weighs one pound less, too. The label on the original battery says 500 CCA, so I should probably go with the "bigger" battery. Physically, the Interstate website shows the dimensions are exactly the same.

I'll do more browsing to see if I can find a lower price on a "Group 51."
