No. The warning on the box specifically says, "If pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use."
Does quinine prevent pregnancy and is it safe while im breastfeeding?
yes. the amount is neglible. it is used as an anti-malarial agent for hundreds of years and is very safe at the doses used for that. it has been used as an abortifacient at very high doses which has made people unnecessarily concerned about its use in pregnancy. it has not been shown to be teratogenic in humans.
How long between eating peanuts and breastfeeding?
Although not widely practiced in North America, the eating of nuts during pregnancy in many countries is as strongly discouraged as drinking. The reason for this is that although the food is processed by the mothers body, it is unable to be processed fully by the fetus. There are a number of studies that have concluded that the introducing of nuts during the pregnancy and first five years of life can contribute greatly to the contraction of nut allergies. My medical advice would be to abstain from eating nuts during your pregnancy and breast feeding period, as this could cause your child to gain such allergies. Take care, and good luck. Dr. B.
When is it unacceptable for a mother to breastfeed?
In some cases, a mother should not breastfeed for medical reasons.
Some consider it to be unacceptable for mothers to breastfeed in public, though if breastfeeding is done in a modest manner, that does not mean the mother should not breastfeed at all in public. Some times it would not be acceptable is during business meetings or while at work, during social occasions when the mother is the center of attention, etc.
What are the caloric needs during lactation?
Take what you would eat on average before you became pregnant and add between 300 and 400 extra calories to that. For example, if you normally would eat 1200 calories a day, now while you are pregnant you should eat between 1500 and 1600 calories a day.
Because God gave women breasts to nurse their children, breast milk is much much better for your baby than anything else you could give it.
For several reasons, one because the baby gets more nutrients from breast milk since it isn't processed like formula milk. Another reason is some mom's don't believe in formula milk.
The sugar like crystals are the absorbent part of the nappy/diaper/pampers. If the baby is very wet they sometimes come out of the absorbent bit and sit on the baby's skin. All I can suggest is changing him more often.
This could be a sign of a breast infection. You should see your healthcare provider any time you experience these types of problems with your breasts. It may be something simple but it could be something more dangerous. Due to the high incidence of breast cancer, you shouldn't take any chances.
Does someone know of an antiseptic nipple spray?
Sorry I can't help you now. I am searching for something similar for my daughter to use.
I was prescribed such a spray 30 years ago for my first child . It was a Godsend. I continued to use it for all of my children and never had sore nipples again.
I cannot recall its name or the make . I wish I knew why it has been taken off the market
I am exactly the same problem here - i think it was called chlorohexidine or something like that and it works better brilliantly unlike the creams.... Has it been taken off the market?
Further research online has made me recall brand name Rotersept and it was chlorhexidine gluconate - but it appears to have been withdrawn due to some babies reacting against it. Such a shame. It really did the job!
Can breast produce milk by squeezing?
Not that I know of. It usually needs a hormone prescribed by a doctor to cause lactation anda very good reason for doing so. There has been research into people who have heart conditions taking breast milk in small amounts as part of the treatment. I did hear of someone discussing it as a couple whether to get the wife to go to her doctor and get the hormone treatment to start her lactating even though they had finished having children and their doctor said it could be done. Another cause of breast milk (apart from pregnancy) could be a tumour on the pituitary gland (often benign) causing the body to produce prostaglandin which is a pregnancy hormone. In summary the answer to the original question would be "No", unless the woman had recently been breastfeeding which would mean she could carry on producing small amounts of milk for some time after weaning as I experienced myself.
How do you know if baby is satisfied after breastfeeding?
Your baby will stop feeding when it is satisfied.
Can you make a non pregnant dog lactate?
You cannot "make" a non-pregnant dog lactate, but intact female dogs will sometimes lactate. Dogs retain their corpus luteum, and sometimes have a "pseudo-pregnancy." Pregnancy in dogs cannot be determined by the fact that they are lactating for this reason.
Can you start breastfeeding after four months?
If you continue to offer a newborn the breast from the time of birth and do not supplement with formula you will have an adequate supply of breast milk until you stop offering the breast. Breast milk is supplied based on demand. If the newborn/child suckles for it, your breasts will continue to produce milk indefinitely.
