Can a persons vision worsen 6 years after having lasik surgery?

Yes, a person's vision can worsen after LASIK surgery, even many years later. Factors such as age-related changes, the natural progression of refractive errors, or eye conditions like cataracts can contribute to declining vision. Additionally, some patients may experience a phenomenon known as " regression," where the effects of the surgery diminish over time. Regular eye check-ups are essential to monitor vision health post-surgery.

What is wavefront lasik?

With traditional LASIK, you essentially receive what's in your prescription glasses or contacts lenses permanently on your cornea to treat your nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. With custom (Wavefront) LASIK, you receive that correction plus the correction for about a dozen other characteristics of your eyes that contribute to blurry vision (like distortion around headlights when you drive at night.) We charge the same at our practice for Custom and standard LASIK to make the decision easy for our patients. Go with the best technology--you won't regret it!

Who is the best LASIK surgeon in New York City?

I have had mine done at Park Avenue LASEK Vision in New York by Dr. Chynn. Midtown itself can be little pricey, but it's definitely worth it to pay a little extra to have peace of mind. Dr.Chynn has made my surgery affordable, LASEK is the best Christmas present I ever got. Yes, I got LASEK the day before Christmas eve!

I was very nervous, and on the fence about surgery, after all it is my eyes at risk. After long research I realized the LASEK is the way to go, it is much safer than LASIK because it does not cut your eye, because he doesn't have to cut a flap, therefore preventing ALL flap complications. I went to Park Avenue LAsek because they are the ONLY center in NYC that exclusively performs the safer LASEK procedure. I have never experienced dryness or discomfort through out the healing process ; however, Park Avenue Lasek offered me punctal plugs which relive that dry eye syndrome some people may have after surgery. I actually had this before LASEK, probably because I never use natural tears.

Surgery was super quick and easy, the recovery was speedy, and I was shopping 3 days post op! I couldn't believe that I finally have the 20/20 vision I could never imagine waking up with . I thank Dr. Chynn very much and certainly recommend him as a doctor to any one who is looking to get rid of their glasses or contacts. Dr. Chynn is super smart, talking to him for a few minutes was like getting a lecture from a Harvard professor. After all, he went to 5 IVY league schools ( Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Emory, Dartmouth)

Is Lasik or RPK better?

I think you are really asking is LASIK or PRK better? The answer is that it depends. Clearly LASIK has been more popular by both eye surgeons and patients over the last 15 years where I would estimate over 80% of all vision correction is done by LASIK. The reasons for this are the relatively painless procedure followed by a very quick recovery and minimal post operative problems.
Compare this with PRK where the same excimer laser is used but rather than treating under a flap like in LASIK, the treatment is done on the outer surface of the eye after the epithelium or skin is removed. Here in PRK there is a large wound which must heal and it is painful, the vision is blurry, and there is a much greater chance of scarring. The latter problem has been greatly reduced to some extent with better lasers, but mostly with the use of Mitomycin C. This is a chemotherapy medicine which stops the proliferation of fibroblasts as part of the healing response. The use of Mito C is "off label" and not endorsed by the FDA although it is quite effective. We believe that this is a safe process, but there is nothing studied to prove that belief.
The benefits of PRK are that it is more superficial and thus less likely to cause as much weakening of the eye as LASIK, although with the newer blade free treatments this is less of a difference than before, and it does not require making a flap which has some inherent risk. It is also a good procedure for certain occupations with a higher risk of eye trauma and for corneas that have some problems with the skin of the eye to begin with (map dot fingerprint dystrophy).
In summary, in most cases LASIK is usually preferred but there are cases where PRK is a better option and your doctor can best help you make that determination.

What is a lasik enhancement?

It describes any lasik platic surgery and for correcting many diseases. It literally stands for laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis and it much more accurate than the literal saying of "going under the knife." Lasers are more precise and safer in almost every case. Answer 2: Lasik enhancement is a post-procedure used to fine tune with under-correction results after the initial laser treatment... (see related link: Lasik Surgery Clinic)

Can cutting an eye tooth cause a fever in a 7-year-old?

Yes it can. Your child from the age of 4 should have been going for the odd check-up just to get use to going to the dentist. At 7 your child should be seeing the dentist. Perhaps the gum is infected. Good luck
