Let it cool & scrape off what you can. Place some dry paper towels on the spot and run a warm iron over it until the wax is soaked up by the paper towels. Use as much toweling as is necessary. Wash the spot with some mild detergent, rinse, blot dry, and allow to dry completely. Good Luck! :)

How to get dried latex paint out of suede?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Getting latex paint out of clothes

Ammonia will get latex paint out of anything. It actually dissolves it so soaking would be in order if it has been dried on for some time. Scrub it ever so often to help the ammonia along.

Do it in a well ventilated area as the ammonia gives off fumes. Be aware of what you are soaking as ammonia can also dissolve some glues as well.

Luckily, it is possible to remove the paint, even if you don't find the stain until it has dried. Paint is either oil-based or water-based (latex), so the steps for removing the stain differ, depending on which type of paint has stained the fabric.

How do you make fabric softener?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Find yourself a clean one gallon plastic jug.

1 cup of Baking soda

1 cup of water

Slowly add 6 cups of pure white distilled vinegar. It will fizz, do this slowly.

Add 7 more cups of water swishing the mixture about carefully to mix well.

If you like scented softener you can also add essential oils like patchouli or vanilla.

You must remember to swish the mixture around each time you use it to loosen any soda from the bottom of the container. Cap loosely as there will be some buildup of pressure due to the baking soda and vinegar reaction.

How do you get pen ink out of a wool hat with out ruining it?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The stain may be more or less permanent.

Try this:

**Soak the hat in lukewarm water with a mild soap added for three to five minutes.

**Push the soapy water through the stain several times, taking care not to agitate the wool.

**Continue to soak and work the hat until no more ink comes out.

**Rinse the hat twice by filling the bowl with fresh water then pushing the water through the hat. Drain the bowl each time and continue to push fresh water out of the hat.

**Roll the hat in a towel to remove excess water. Do not wring.

**Air dry flat after coaxing the hat back into the shape you want.

Can you wash Sketcher Twinkle Toes shoes in the washing machine?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

After my granddaughter wore her twinkle toes shoes for three months, I couldn't stand how dirty they were so I threw them in the washer with cold water. They came out clean and the lights still worked.

I just took a toothbrush and some soap to the sole and where the studs are. I did very gentle scrubbing and then rinsed gently under running water. It isn't a perfect solution but they look better than they did.

How do you load a front loading bobbin?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I'm assuming you're talking about winding a bobbin on a sewing machine? If so, there is a post similar to the one for thread (near it) that you put the empty bobbin on. Then you put your spool of thread where it goes on the machine. You wind your thread from the spool of thread to the bobbin (there's usually a little chart on your machine, but if not, the thread goes through a hook or two and then you wind it about 4 times around the bobbin (clockwise). In newer machines you then push the bobbin toward a holder type thing that is near it. This disengages the needle from going up and down and lets the machine wind the thread as you push the pedal.

On older machines, you have to turn the handle of the machine toward you and it disengages the needle, allowing the bobbin to be filled when you press the pedal.

Hope this helps! You could probably google your sewing machine name and how to thread a bobbin and maybe get a diagram.

How do you get dried puffy paint out of clothes?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Puffy paint is designed to decorate fabric, so it is hard to get it out of fabrics. If you get it on your clothes while crafting, immediately wipe it off with a clean, dry paper towel, and then rinse it until the paint is gone. Once the paint is dried you may not be able to get the stain out, start by peeling off the puffy-part, then pretreat the stain and wash.

Do you rinse your tie dye shirt before you wash it?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

After you tie-dye a shirt you need to wash out the loose dye that didn't fix to the shirt. Hopefully you used "reactive type" dyes which are permanent on cotton if used correctly.

Here is how to wash out the loose dye:

1. Leave the shirt tied up!

2. Let it sit for a while if you have time to. If you let dyed shirts sit for a few hours it is much easier and cleaner to wash out the loose dye.

3. Wear gloves when you touch the dyed shirt because it's messy!

4. When you are ready to wash the loose dye out, take the tied up shirt to your sink. Leave it tied up and put it in the sink and turn on the cold running water. Let the water flow onto the shirt. A lot of loose dye will start to flow out from the shirt in the cold running water, this is normal. The cold flowing water will wash away the dye and keep the colors from running together and keep the white areas white.

5. Leave the shirt tied up and rinse and rinse until you kind of get sick of rinsing!

6. Finish washing out the loose dye by filling your washing machine with warm water. Add laundry soap (or special synthrapol detergent you can buy from the dye seller) and get the water sudsy. Untie the shirt and throw it in the soapy water. If you've rinsed out several shirts you can put them all in the washer together now. Wash the shirts in the washing machine as many times as you need to until when you look in a rinse cycle the water is clear and no more dye is coming out of the fabric. When you get to this point, you're done.

How do you wash baby clothes?

User Avatar

Asked by Neila222

I washed my baby clothes along with the other household clothes (using fabric softener) and had no problems. Some babies, however, are highly sensitive or allergic to some laundry detergents, fabric softeners, etc. If your baby develops a rash, this may be the case and your pediatrician should offer some advice on laundering your baby's clothes.

How do you move a washing machine into a garage?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Is the garage subject to freezing temperatures? If so it is not something you would want to do. All supply lines and drainlines would have to be plumbed to that location and drain lines would have to be properly vented. I would suggest a plumber for a job of this magnitude and to ensure that it is properly done. Todays washers require a minimum of 2" diameter piping for the drain capeable handling flows of about 17-18 GPM.

How much clothes to put in washing machine?

User Avatar

it depends on how big your washer is. you need to leave enough room for the agitator (the thing in the middle) to be able to move and move your clothes around. the water needs to be able to circulate through your clothes. if you put too many they won't get very clean and you could break your machine.
