If i quit lexapro how long does the sexual side effects last?
I used to have amazing orgasms (when I wasn't taking an SSRI). It took me no time, no fantasy was required, just intense, brilliant, full-body, muscle contracting long lasting orgasms (with or without a partner). When I started taking Lexapro, that stopped. I wasn't concerned as that was usually the case on SSRI's, and I knew it would go back to normal after I stopped taking it. It's been over a year now since I stopped taking Lexapro and I still can't have an orgasm. Nothing. I have a libido, sexual stimulation, but NO orgasm. I keep thinking I'm crazy, that it can't really be true, so I try, and try, and try. Nothing. I keep hoping that maybe it's just going to take a while, and it will gradually return to normal, but it's not. There isn't even a glimmer of anything resembling an orgasm. If there was one thing I could undue in my life, it would be this. My sex life is forever changed. I NEVER would have taken this drug if I knew that the potential for permanent sexual side effects existed. I think that this is criminally unfair. I can't believe the kind of sex life I used to have is just quickly becoming a distant memory instead of an ongoing and beautiful part of my current life and future. Devastating doesn't come close to describing how I feel. I WOULD DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM TAKING LEXAPRO!
How much would Lexapro cost without insurance?
I called Costco and was told that a 30 day prescription of Lexapro (20 mg) was over $90. There are some on line pharmacies out there that claim to have a generic form of Lexapro for $30/mo. There are also some sites that claim to be Canadian which sell the European version of Lexapro for less. My problem is that I know that this isn't a generic Lexapro. Right now, I am struggling with getting off the stuff, so it isn't really an issue. I would count on at least $90 per month for 20 mg. unless you want to try some of these online sites, which I would be leary of. Who knows what this stuff is.
Hey - I actually am in a situation where I do not currently have insurance and I cannot fill my lexapro prescription because it's going to cost about $130 a month. So I guess it varies but that was at Walgreens, CVS and Target. So if someone knows of a place much cheaper, I would love to know because instead I was put on Prozac and I HATE it.
Is taking 5 mg of lexapro daily helpful?
I imagine it all depends on the person....everyone is different...some people need higher doses than others to have a reaction.
if you feel that it isn't doing what it suggested then speak to your doctor and talk about other options or increasing the dosage.
Why must Lexapro be taken in the morning and not at night?
I was told to take Lexapro in the morning because one of the side effects is insomnia, so if you were to take it in the evening or just before going to bed, you probably would not be able to get to sleep.
I switched from 10mg lexapro to 30 mg cymbalta for 2 wk and then 60 mg. Have had good results. For one thing I quit gaining weight, as I did on lexapro. Cymbalta also helped my muscle aches and pains as an added plus.
Wellbutrin and Lexapro work on different brain chemistries. Wellbutrin works on the dopamine while Lexapro works on Seratonin. Ten mg of Lexapro is a small dose. Wellbutrin can be taken twice a day to prolong its efficacy in conjunction with the Lexapro taken once. This is a standad therapy.
Is it safe to take Wellbutrin and Lexapro with Premarin?
Yes, but your Dr. would need to tell you if it's safe for "You" to mix them.
I accidentally took my husbands Lexapro what would happen to me?
If you haven't taken it before than your just going to have a slightly upset stomach for a little while followed a more sedated but not extremely euphoric feeling, also you may feel drowsy
I think you may have weaned off to qickly. Did you wean YOURSELF off, or under a doctors care?? The "brain shivers" are a side effect of coming off Anti-depressents too quickly. Please see a Healthcare Professional soon. As far as weaning goes , you probably need 3-6 weeks to feel better. Good LUCK! The weight comes off SLOWLY>
Does drinking too much with lexapro cause blackouts?
I am on lexapro for three weeks now, when I drink now, not even that much 8-10 pints i am having a 3-4 hour blackout stage of the night. Its quiet scary as last week I jumped into the back of a cop car for know reason and can not remember doing this at all :0
I can't say I about Wellbutrin, but as for the Lexapro which I too am coming off, I am extremely emotional and very quick to anger. I can't even stand myself. There is no build up. Someone does something minor and I'm instantly pissed and yelling. I also am experiencing headaches, horrible brain zaps and dizziness as well as fatigue.
I weaned myself to 5mg a day then quit. It has been four days of hell. I hope this ends soon. I feel sorry for the people that have to deal with me.
How do you step down the dosage of Lexapro to eventually get off of it completely?

Has anyone suffered side effects after taking Champex?
yes a wet myself with these tablets no incline that a needed the toilet
Why would a person sweat so much at night that they have to dry out there pillow the net morning?
you might be very stressed about something. that might cause it. or worried. very worried
No, it takes several days for any antidepressant or anxiety pill to leave your body. I would not recommend skipping any doses. I know people who take 10mg per day though and have a glass of wine with dinner and are fine. Alcohol is a depressant - you probably shouldn't be drinking if you're depressed
Can you take Lexapro and Ativan at the same time?
Yes. It is perfectly safe to take both Paxil (Paroxitine) and Ativan (Lorezapam) at the same time. i was prescribed both these meds for my anxiety and depression and have been taking them for 6 months.. they work great for GAD :)
Are Lexapro and Wellbutrin statins?
No. They are SSRIs and work on the nervous systems where statins work in the liver and metabolism of lipids.
Can you take lexapro xanax and cozaar at the same time?
Yes. My girlfriend was prescribed both Lexapro and Xanax for sporadic severe anxiety and panic attacks resulting from a traumatic experience that had occured two years prior. She has been on it for about four weeks but the side-effects (nausea, constant drowsiness, impaired sex drive, 'spacing out') have become severe enough that she consulted her doctor was instructed to ditch the Xanax and take half of her Lexapro dosage. It appears that taking both would only be beneficial if the symptoms they are prescribed to cure are long-term and the patient fully understands the possible side-effects of the medication.
Yes, the two drugs are not mutually exclusive. However, Xanax (aprazolam) being a temporary tranquilizer, is typically not prescribed or intended for long stretches of time. Tolerance and withdrawl/habit forming effects being part of the reason. Xanax has a half life of roughly 12 hours, which makes it ideal for dealing with bouts of isolated anxiety. Certain side effects can be exacerbated with the Xanax such as upset stomach, drowsiness and decreased libido but this you already know. In short, since I can't and won't tell you what to do, talk to your doctor and tell him or her everything.
My Doctor prescribed both to me years ago. I was on Lexapro and Xanax 2mg and I'm fine.
Are there any long-term side-effects of using Lexapro for a short while?
I don't know about "short while", as I'm not sure how long you mean. A few months? A few years? How long is "short" vs. "long" to you? I took Lexapro for about 3 years straight. Currently, 4-5 years after quitting Lexapro, my formerly normal libido has NOT returned to what I recall as a "normal" level. In fact, it's hardly there at all. I don't know if this is due to general life stress or Lexapro, but I had plenty of the same stress BEFORE I went on Lexapro, so I'm suspecting the drug had/still has something to do with it. This drug is still fairly "new" to market, and little is known about long term side effects - the manufacturers and FDA don't usually research the side effects exhaustively before approving a new drug.
Is tongue biting a side effect of taking phentermine?
I have taken Phentermine a few times over the years. It bothers my teeth, gums, tongue, and I clench my jaw. The past 3 months, every time I start taking it my tongue goes nuts. It's numb on the end and red. It feels like I have burned it. Now the annoying burning numbness is spreading a little further up my tongue. I stopped a month ago and after taking it for a couple of weeks, it went away so I started back up a week later. It started right back up so after a few days I stopped again. It didn't totally go away that time even after a week. So, 3 days ago I started again (I always start with a 1/2 for the first week) and my tongue is crazy with the numbness and burning. You can even see it's a little redder and a little rougher on the end. I've also had a few vicious canker sores and I don't know if that's connected too?
I drink plenty, I don't do anything to make it worse~ It's obviously the Phentermine.
I guess it's just not for me because it's bad enough to be a little scary. I didn't take one today and I'm going to stop.
UNLESS you know of a cure?
It's scares me because meth users lose their teeth and have gum problems...
I've tried the tabs and the capsules but both do it : (
Sad.
What are the herbal supplements of marsh mallow?
Internally as a tea, tincture or capsule. Externally as a salve or poultice.
Should i stop taking lexapro if i feel like my depression is getting better?
Nope ... not without your doctor's approval. Most medications can only do what they are supposed to do when taken as prescribed by a licensed medical professional. To do otherwise totally defeats the purpose of taking the medication in the first place. You may be feeling better about yourself, but you certainly do not want to slip backwards into a depression mode, so, do as your doctor orders.
Is it bad to keep losing weight and gaining weight?
yes it is bad. Yo-yo dieting can seriously affect your health and can actually make you gain back more fat you had before, when you gain the weight back. Try losing one to two pounds a week if your looking to lose weight other wise try to maintain your average.
What should you do after taking lexapro 10mg and have constant headache?
When I started taking Lexapro I had a constant headache. My doctor told me that was a 'normal' side effect of the drug and it would subside in a few weeks. For me it took about a month to be headache free. To me it was worth it because I chose the headache over the constant sadness. I also suffer from migraines and the Lexapro headache was not debilitating like migraines so I stuck it out and the headache went away. The headache returned after I increased the dosage to 20mg and it took about 3 weeks to adjust.
