There may be multiple reasons why, but that doesn't make it any less depressing. Even though he was and will always be one of the greatest vocalists of all time, Chester had a very disheartening childhood and struggled with drugs and alcohol as a teenager. I listened to Linkin Park 3 times today (that is, 3 of their songs- "From the Inside", "Breaking the Habit", and "Faint"), and unfortunately, you could tell by Chester's lyrics that he wanted to fit in the world as a person and not only as an entertainer. Plus, his parents divorced when he was young and he suffered from really awful abuse that I can't even comprehend. I believe that deep down, Chester was a good guy with a good heart, but sadly in a lot of ways he couldn't make it in life feeling like an outsider.

They also have the hybrid theory ep (1999), some demo tapes, fan club underground cds released every year, a b-sides CD (under attack is the name), and a best-of linkin park underground CD.

The song "In The End" is a nu-metal and rap rock genre. The song starts with a unique piano tune by Mike Shinoda. Chester Bennington starts singing with "It starts with..." and then Mike takes over and starts rapping. Through out the rap, Chester comes in from time to time to complete Mike's sentence or to start one. When the first rap ends, Chester starts singing the Chorus.

And then Mike takes over and starts rapping the way he rapped earlier. Chester again keeps popping in from time to time to make things interesting. When the rap ends Chester takes over again to sing the chorus. After that he sings really slowly and then comes back with his famous (screaming) singing! The song ends with the piano by Mike.

It's really a beautiful song. It is even called a classic and the song that defined the new era. You should listen to it once.

It's one of their new songs. I really like it, and highly recomend it, and it's good for any aged person. It also has a hidden messege That everyone's time comes to an end, and that's their Shadow Of The Day. Well, that's what my friend told me anyway. This song to me means more than just being lonely. I think it has to do with a relationship:

Verse 1:

He's lonely deep down inside and he's trying to cover it up but he can't hide it completely.

He still feels for her, but can't get her to feel the same way

He gives up trying to hold onto her even though she turns her back on him. He cant seem to let her go though.

Now the chorus to me is a conversation between the guy and the girl. He's trying to hold them together and make her hear what he has to say, but she is still pushing away.

He's admitting his flaws, but saying he still tries to be a good guy.

They both know she doesn't wanna be with him anymore but she's afraid to say it.

He's angry that she won't listen to him and is getting desperate to keep her by his side.

Now this is just my interpretation. I experienced this very situation and it hurt. This song does a great job of putting the feelings into words and not to mention its a sweet tune otherwise. Linkin Park is the best!

It seems as if they purposely censored the song when they made it. I doubt an uncensored version exists.

Both Mike an Chester wrote the lyrics. Chester used acoustic guitar for the background music, but it sounded too much like folk music. So, Mike reversed the recording of he guitar, cut it up into four pieces, then put it back in order. This gave off this sort of sweeping effect to the music you hear in the intro of he song.

Yes, in their older albums and in a few of their newer songs they do use profanity. Not excessively, though.

Their newer, more commercialized music seems more docile, though.

Linkin Park is surprisingly nu metal and emo.

Most of their older albums such as: Metora and Hybrid Theory have many emo songs but most of it is nu metal.

In their new album : Minutes to Midnight their songs are mostly emo. Emo is not a bad thing. x.x

the band started as a band named 'Xero' which firstly consisted of Mike Shinoda (rapper), Rob Bourdon (drums) and Brad Delson (Lead Guitar). this started in 1996 and so as a project, Linkin Park up to know has lasted for 15 years now.

But as under the name 'Linkin Park' with all the current members in and the recording of their first album was in 1999, releasing Hybrid Theory in the following year, so officially they have been Linkin Park for 12 years.
