What is the komodo dragon prey to?

Yes, the komodo dragon is very dangerous. It has a very dangerous, venomous bite.

For years it was believed that the danger of a Komodo dragon's bite was due not to venom, but to bacteria that live on its teeth. Recent research, however, has discovered that the bite of the Komodo dragon delivers a powerful venom which actually thins the blood, increasing blood flow and creating a state of shock in the victim. The sharp, serrated teeth of a komodo dragon are used to open a gaping wound in its prey, enabling the venom to flow easily.

The discovery of venom glands in the Komodo dragon challenges the previous assumption that fatal bites were due to the consumption of carrion (rotting things), and the resultant growth of toxic bacteria in the mouths of the lizards. Infections by these organisms would still be a serious factor in treating a bite wound. Komodo dragons do not usually attack people, preferring other game such as deer. But there are documented cases of them stalking and killing human beings.

Bluegills are a highly adaptive fish. Some adaptations include; strong jaws to eat muscles and hard shells, their bones extend into the dorsal fin to make them sharp and less desirable to predators, and highly sensitive fins that allow them to make precise movement in the water. Also the bluegill has an irregularly sensitive lateral line, that has adapted to help them sense pressure changes in the water, and hear sounds in the water. Well i hope this helped!

Can a komodo dragon eat an elephant?

Yes, A dinosaur has no protection from a komodos poison it hasn't yet developed immunities to illnesses like we have so it would be helpless. even a t-rex would die after a while even if it killed the komodo first. but that is unlikely as the komodo has excellent reflexes and is able to dodge a huge fat two legged dinosaur.

What is the difference between a komodo dragon and a hela monster?

healamonsters come from st America /Mexico and are venamous.

Comodo dragons come from Indonesia and arn't venamous

Wow, whoever wrote the original comment is a moron and needs to learn to spell. Komodo Dragon's and Gila Monsters (proper spelling for both) are different in numerous ways, but their toxicity is not an example of such. Komodo Dragon's are infact venomous, the venom glands are (If I'm not mistaken) located in the bottom jaws and are not injected through their teeth or fangs, but through grooves in between the teeth. The venom acts as an anticoagulant and often allows the animal to bleed to death from the bite.

In addition, Monitor's have significantly longer and thinner tails, generally have longer and pointier snouts, long sharp claws for digging, and strong muscular throats. Most species are also significantly larger than Gila Monsters. A Komodo Dragon is a Monitor Lizard, so it possesses these qualities as well as a rather gray or olive coloration as opposed to the Gila Monster's more black appearance.

Hope this helps!

Is an anole lizard nocturnal?

Anoles are solitary animals in the wild and they don't need companions or friends. Its best to keep one anole lizard by itself then with another anole.

No two different species of lizards should ever be housed together. It is dangerous to their health. Disease spreads easier to different species and its common that they will fight.

If you must have another lizard housed with an anole then a house gecko would be the best. They are very similar in size and requirements. Be sure to do research on both before hand though.

well you are wrong anoles can live together

No. Coyotes don't eat turtles. The shell could easily harm coyotes. They just sometimes eat small rodents and fruit rarely in some months. And also birds. I don't think they could possibly eat a turtle. THAT would not be could not be good for the coyote AND the turtle. Just remember what I mentioned before. That is your answer.

That's my answer. Do you agree? :) (:

What biome do komodo dragons live in?

The islands of Komodo and the other islands contain many steep slopes and have a very dry and arid climate, usually around 80F degrees. The lack of fresh water, just a short monsoon that on occasion floods the land, is a perfect Komodo dragon habitat. Low arid forests surrounded by sand and savannah are the main building blocks of a good and healthy Komodo dragon habitat. Komodo Dragon habitats contains bushes, small trees and grassland where it can hide and await a prey, usually a wild pig or a goat. The climate is hot and dry but includes rocky slopes, savanna, forested valleys, mangrove swamps, coral reefs and sand bars. Although it was stated that these animals live on the Island of Komodo, they also live on surrounding islands, these include the western end of Flores, Rintja, Padar, and Nusa Mbarapu. These islands are home to many large animal species that the dragons prey on. Komodo dragons are found in tropical savanna forests, but range widely over the islands, from beach to ridge tops.
