A deadbolt lock is named "dead" because it does not have springs like a regular latch bolt, making it more secure and difficult to tamper with. The term "bolt" refers to the thick metal bar that extends into the door frame, providing extra protection against forced entry.

First of all you have to remove the old threshold. If the threshold is underneath the frame of the door, you will need to cut through it on either side of the doorway, as close to the door frame as possible. Be careful not to cut into the floor below. Lift out the threshold if you can because there may still be some nails holding it down. Take out the end pieces of threshold that are under the door frame. Nails may be holding in these pieces and you don't want to split the door frame. Use a hammer and a small chisel or flat head screwdriver to break the threshold ends into small pieces that you can remove easily. Then you can install the new threshold. Insert shims under the threshold to support it and make sure that it slopes downward to direct water away from the door. You may be able to use one long piece or several shims in different thicknesses to ensure your threshold is level. Once you have test fitted everything, remove the threshold and use adhesive to keep the shims where you want them. Replace the threshold, and insert some more shims on the outside of the threshold against the door jambs if necessary. Use a little adhesive here also. Drill holes in the threshold for a few nails. Hammer the nails down, securing the threshold. Coat the threshold with water repelling finish or other sealant and allow to dry allowing foot traffic to return to the area.

Could be a fuse. Lock acculator can fail but not often. How old is the truck? You in a dusty climate? All of these are things to consider. I would start at the fuse box and then go from there.

If you can't insert the key all the way into the door, it may be due to a misaligned lock or debris inside the keyhole. Inspect the key for any bends or damage that could prevent it from fitting properly. Additionally, try lubricating the lock with a graphite or silicone-based lubricant. If the problem persists, consider calling a locksmith to assess the situation.

The best way is to find a similar vehicle, open the hood on the car that the hood release works on. Then try to figure how the latch mechanism works. The you can fashion a tool to trip the latch. Also, lie down and use a flashlight - look up and see if you can unbolt the latch bar. This works very well on Chevy blazers. You will need a long extension.

If the lock is 6 cut or 10 cut, either way yes it can. it takes alot of patience and practice

for 6 cut use light turn pressure, and it will mark on the side with the wide grove in it. the marks are really faint and you may need a magnifying glass to see them.

To remove the door lock cylinder from a 1989 Bronco II, you'll need to start by removing the door panel to access the lock assembly. Once the panel is off, locate the retaining clip or screw that holds the lock cylinder in place. After removing it, you can pull the lock cylinder out of the door. You can then take the cylinder to a locksmith to create a new key.

Essentially you set the picks in a tubular lock pick to "past flush" meaning they extend beyond the housing they're normally inside.

Once there, press them flush by pushing the pick down on a table or other flat surface.

Next, tighten the collar of the tubular lock pick.

Once the collar is snug, place it in the key in knob cylinder for the lock. This should "impression" the required key onto your tubular lock pick.

Extract the pick slowly while turning it, and you should open the lock. You should also be left with the calibrations for that lock's key on your pick, which will enable you to duplicate it or simply reset your pick the next time you want to pick that lock.

By definition, "picking" the lock implies that one is using skill to push the pins into place so that the tumbler can be turned.

Using an explosive doesn't really do that. It more or less just destroys the entire lock.

If you have a mechanical key that will flip the lock back and forth but the button will not go up, the linkage clip has possibly become detached or broken. This breakage often results from a well intentioned friend unlocking your car with a slim jim.


It is very easy to remove the driver's side door lock cylinder on your truck, but if the linkage clip is broken, you will have to remove the door panel. Right on the edge of the door jam is a metal clip, you want to gently work it loose by prying each end, top and bottom up a little bit at a time. A little care in removal with save you much frustration when reinstalling the lock cylinder and clip. After the clip is completely removed, grasp the face of the lock cylinder and remove. If you can pull it straight out, the clip is at the bottom of your door.

If you have any mechanical ability and patience, you can fix this yourself by ordering a new plastic clip. If you do not, 100 bucks or less will probably fix this if you bring it to either a locksmith or body shop.

Yeah that program is great if you are doing a 120 story building and you have 1,200 dollars to spend on a master keying program.

If you just do medium jobs, and you want a whole bunch for your money, I would go buy Super Grand Master from 2keyit.com. You get way more features for way less. I think they are the lowest cost wise,and the highest feature wise.
