There is a microprocessor, into which we have to enter the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 for every 108 minutes. The most probable reason is that after entering the number the electromagnetic plant is discharged and it stops the end of the world. There is an alarm system to alert the subjects, music system most probably for entertainment, an armoury, bathroom, study room, gym, food compartment, ect. Also, their is a man in their named Desmond David Hume, who's been pushing the button, for 3 years.
"Lost" was never your average everyday scripted television series. It had a rich mythology and numerous, complex storylines involving the survivors' past and current experiences. The series was rarely a Top 10 attraction in the Nielsen ratings, but its fan base was so large, the show's episodes were among the most recorded for later viewing.
Three years ago, on May 7, 2007, ABC and "Lost" executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse announced that the series would run for three more seasons and end in 2010. It also was announced that each remaining season would have 16 episodes, instead of the usual 22.
ABC was pleased with the agreement because it gave the network enough episodes for syndication. It also allowed the producers to end the series on their own terms.
After the agreement, ABC stopped airing "Lost" episodes in September because viewers disliked reruns and long periods of time without new episodes. Starting with Season 4, "Lost" was held over until late January or early February, and then aired with fewer repeats and breaks.

In Flashes Before Your Eyes and episodes in Season 4 on the freighter, we learn that Desmond does have some sort of power to go into different times and everything.

Michael did.. He was captured by the others and they told him that if he wanted his Son back (Walt) then he would have to free Henery gale (Benjamin Linus) and then bring Jack, Kate, Hugo (Hurley), and Sawyer (Jamesford) to them. While freeing Ben, he was forced to kill Ana Lucia and just when he did Libby came down and frightened him so he shot her too. He later said that shooting her was a mistake.

In my personal opinion the answer is no. Advertising over television on trusted networks is one of the best ways to still build brand recognition and trust. Even Internet giants have all benefited immensely from the use of television media. Remember Yahoo and Google commercials? This trend will not die, not anytime soon at least. To increase views of commercials of entertainment value the other medias such as Internet have allowed for them to become viral and increase effectiveness via online video.
