the trachea is air passage tube that allows air to enter your lungs.
the bronchi are two little tubes that are connected to the end of your trachea and lead to the lungs.
Why squamous metaplasia in lung is called two way sword?
I have SquamousMetaplasia and it does not show up on x-ray but by a cam put into myrespirator airway. The problem is my Doctor does not understand and calls it bronchitis and sends X-rays that shows nothing to CPP and other like worker comp. As this disorder can't be seen by X-ray I have been denied comp. for my disorder and the on going suffering becomes more prolonged and more sensitive as exposure to Second hand smoke and other irritants trigger the episode's Now cold weather and showering has become a trigger. My daily life has been effected and there is no specialists that have helped. The sprays and other Asama meds cause more discomfort and irritation. As the problem is there and been identified why do CPP and Worker comp. not have these on file or know the serve and prolong suffering that come with this condition.

Can your lungs heal if you start smoking when you are young?
From the moment you quit smoking, you will begin to heal it takes about 1 year to clear your lungs out, and by year 3 or your quit lungs are perfectly healthy. Provided you didn't quit at the beginning of lung cancer. It is always a good practice to go to the doctor when starting your quit, and follow up to see improvements.
What causes water to fill around the lungs?
Increased pressure within the vascular system is the usual cause. This is caused usually by three things (one at a time or all combined): too much fluid, too few intravascular particles, too little heart function.
All three cause too much pressure within the circulatory system and the fluid within the vessels is then 'pushed out' into the extavascular space. This space is within the lungs or within other tissues in the body. You get wet lungs or swollen extremities.
Is there a valves wall of each air sac in the lung?
No there isn't. The alveoli (air sack) consist of an epithelial layer and extracellular matrix surrounded by capillaries.
Is a head cold the same as emphysema?
No. A "head cold" is what some people call the "common cold" when it is presenting with mostly sinus and upper respiratory symptoms instead of with cough and more lung symptoms. Emphysema is a chronic obstructive lung disease also called COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) that is caused by smoke inhalation, cigarette smoking, pollution, and other damage to the lung tissue.
How to take care of the lungs?
firstly; do not smoke cigarrete, tobacco or anything related to it. let say you smoke 1 pack per day for 20 years. that amount is enough to increase your risk to have a COPD so dont ever smoke! and if you do, stop smoking.
The function of alviolis is to store oxygen. the avilois are atached to artries where oxygen is passed from alviolis to artreis and then into your heart. the blood that runs in that artry that enters your heart is called oxynated blood. this is red. the blood that leaves your heart that goes back to the lung is call dioxynated blood and this is blue. they are blue beacsue they have no oxygen
The vascular supply to each bronchopulmonary segment arrives via a single separate point of entry, the hilus, so it is easy to ligate. The vessels out in the spongy lung tissue itself are few and tiny. Each segment is surrounded by connective tissue.
Source(s):http://anatomy.med.umich.edu/respiratory…How did my tidal and vital lung capacity differ?
My tidal lung capacity was lower. I know the difference because in the tidal lung capacity you are taking in less breath. When you are doing the vital lung capacity, you take in more breath.
How much your lungs can stretch out when you take a deep breath?
This varies between different people, so a sporty persons lungs would have adapted to hold my air than a normal persons. Also a pro swimmer would have more air capacity in their lungs so they could hold it for longer.
Foci in right lung what does that mean?
foci is plural for focus. this would be a very small group of cells. The foci would indicate more than one group of cells. Whether the foci is malignant or has metastazied from another area, the writer did not indicate. I recently was diagnosed with breast cancer and the pathology report stated two foci of micrometastasis meaning there were a few malignant cells in the node. I hope this helps you. Be sure to ask your doctor to explain this in plain English to you.

Does expiratory reserve volume include tidal volume for lung function?
ERV does not include tidal volume which is the typical amount of air coming in and out of your lungs with each breath. (approx 500ml) ERV is the amount of air evacuated out of your lungs after tidal expiration. (approx 1200ml) Vital Capacity is the total amount of exchangeable air or the sum of TV, ERV, and IRV. IRV is inspiratory reserve volume or the amount of air you can inspire forcibly beyond the tidal volume (approx 2100- 3200ml).
How does the lungs contract to oxygenate the body?
Theres alot of things that come into play but i wont get into detail. Simply the diaphragm contracts and relaxes along with other muscles. So when the diaphragm contracts and moves down its pretty much sucking air into the lungs. When you exhale it relaxes back to normal pushing air out! Just picture it almost delusional lol.
What organ carries air from your nose and mouth to your lungs?
Air passes from the environment into the nose/mouth, through the nasopharynx and oropharynx, into the glottis, trachea, bronchi and its bifurcations, and into the alveoli of the lungs.
bronchiectasis
