What is a cc scan?

A "CC Scan", or Cross-Connect Scan is a type of scan that 800 megahertz band trunked system radios use to find connectivity with other systems that share interoperability resources. The EDACS or Enhanced Digital Access Communications System is a advanced radio system that uses a network of low and high power base stations hooked together by fiber optics and other carriers to provide communications coverage over a wide area for Police, Fire, EMS, Transit, Water and other agencies that need it. The CC Scan looks for other networks to use when the primary network is unavailable. If the CC Scan cannot find another network to connect to, it goes to a third-tier WA or Wide Area Scan, looking for connectivity.

Help you under stand blood clot to the lung?

A pulmonary embolus (blood clot to the lung) is usually a small clot that forms somewhere else in the body (usually the legs) and travels through the blood stream until it blocks a major blood supply to the lungs. This prevents normal oxygen exchange and can result in death if not taken care of immediately. I've reference the Medline page if you need more information, especially regarding treatment.

Why can the lungs absorb a large amount of oxygen?

1) It's not the lungs. It's the haemoglobin in blood cells that allow blood cells to carry oxygen to where it is needed.

2) Lungs can absorb a large amount of oxygen because of alveoli. There are small tubes in lungs which have alveoli at there ends. The alveoli are surrounded by a network of capillaries. At these capillaries is where the blood picks up its cargo of oxygen from the air.

Oh and it is hemoglobin not haemoglobin okay Soggy2002!

I happen to be from England, the birthplace of the English language, where we spell it 'haemoglobin'. Okay, MsMM1987?

Where lungs form sputum in man?

Lungs form sputum, or matter that is coughed up, which may include saliva, mucus, or other materials, that is ejected from the mouth, and goes up the respiratory tract. It forms in your lungs, when you breath in bacteria, and other particles in the air. Your saliva gland may produce the saliva that you eject when coughing too.

Why ventilation more at base compared to apex?

ventilation is not even throughout the lungs due to gravity.

Alveoli in the top of the lung are already more expanded than at the bottom. The pleural pressure is less (more negative) at the apex than the base. This is since the weight of the lung pulls it downward away from the chest wall.

At the beginning of inspiration, the alveoli are at different lung volumes and hence at different locations along the pressure-volume curve.

The alveoli at the base start off smaller and are located near the steep portion of the curve, since they start off smaller, they can expand more and as a result have greater compliance and receive more tidal volume.

In contrast, the already expanded alveoli at the apex cannot expand as much as they already start off close to their limit. Hence, they are closer to the top of the curve and receive less of the tidal volume.

So in upright individuals, the base of the lung receives more of the tidal volume and hence is more ventilated.
