Donald Draper (born: 1926) is the protagonist of the Emmy Award-winning AMC drama "Mad Men," which is about a New York City advertising firm of the 1960s and 1970s. Draper, played since 2007 by actor Jon Hamm, is a partner and sometime creative director at Sterling Cooper & Partners Advertising Agency. Draper is a man of mystery. He actually was born Richard "Dick" Whitman in Illinois, but assumed the identity of a dead Army officer named Don Draper during the Korean conflict in the early 1950s. After the war, Whitman eventually entered the advertising trade using his new name. He quickly became a top executive at the original Sterling Cooper Agency (the partners have experienced many changes and mergers through the years).
Draper has been married twice -- first to former model Elizabeth "Betty" Hofstadt (played by January Jones) and then to Canadian-born actress Megan Calvet (Jessica Pare). Both marriages ended in divorce. He had three children with Betty Draper.
He also became friends with the real Don Draper's wife, Anna (Melinda Page Hamilton), and took care of her financially until her death from cancer in 1965.
Christina Hendricks is the busty star of AMC's Mad Men. She was recently featured on the cover of Esquire and voted by their readers as the hottest woman in the world.

Anna was the real Don Drapers wife. The Don Draper that works at Sterling Cooper is actually Dick Whitman. In WWII, Don Draper and Dick Whitman were in combat together where Don died. The officials mixed up their bodies and Dick was mistaken for Don. He kept the name because he thought he could live a better life. Anna went looking for her husband and found another man using his name. "Don" felt bad and repaid her by getting things she needed if she wouldn't tell the government.
