Malcolm X protested for the civil rights of African-Americans in the United States in the 1960s. He is often accused of advocating violence because of his use of radical language. But Malcolm only advocated the use of violence as a form of self defense. He threatened the use of violence by his people as a deterrant to those who would use it on them.

People who hate black people hate them because they see them as people who aren't supposed to be in their country.Fine when they were needed for working cotton fields and sugar plantations for free but now we have machines. They believe blacks take their jobs and damage the economy which a bit stupid since all humans came out of Africa and were all black at one time.

Malcolm X was born May 19, 1925, in Omaha, Nebraska, one of eight children of a Baptist Minister and a homemaker. His father was a supporter of Marcus Garveyâ??s â??Back to Africa Movementâ?? and an outspoken black power advocate. This caused bad blood between his father and a white supremacist group. The conflict left the family homeless after their house was burned to the ground and their father died of suspicious circumstances. Malcolm's mother suffered a mental breakdown after the death of her husband and the children was split between foster homes and orphanages.

he faced many difficulties throughout his life:

- firstly and mainly racism as it prevented him a great deal throughout his life. It overall was the reason why his family was separated and his father killed. Also on an extra note, if there was no race issue his life would of been completely different from the word go.

- also whilst with the nation of Islam he was prevented from working with other civil rights leaders that he wished to. He had to follow the strict rules of Elijah Mohammad.

- another point which was a challenge was his lack of education. Although he was one of the brightest in his class he gave up when a teacher told him his dream of being a lawyer was unreal. By giving up in education it meant he never had any real chance of making something good of himself and to choose nothing but crime.

Malcolm's white girlfriend was named Bea Caragulian who was called "Sophie" in the autobiography to protect her identity. She also had a sister named Joyce who was in the same ring of robbers. They did not see each other again after Malcolm went to prison.

I just found out his former girlfriend is still alive. Her name is Beatrice Bazarian who lives in California. She is almost 90. I found info on her at ancestry.com. Her maiden name was Caragulian. I don't know if anyone ever tried to interview her or seek her out, don't know if she declined. She probably doesn't want to be identified or want to known as being associated with Malcolm X.

Malcolm X's father, Earl, had three children from a previous marriage and six with Louise, Malcolm's mother. Seven years after Earl's death, Louise gave birth to another man's child. All of Malcolm's siblings in order of birth are Ella, Mary, Earl Jr. Wilfred, Philbert, Hilda, Malcolm, Yvonne, Reginald, Wesley, and Robert.

Malcolm X's goal as a child was to become a lawyer, but he was told that he could not become one, as he was black. Later on in life, he joined the nation of Islam, and become a spokesman for the organisation. His main beliefs were that black Americans and white Americans should not be intergrated (not live together). He said that he and his followers should obtain equal rights, by any means possible, which implies he meant through violence (although he never said this). Towards the end of his life (after a pilgrimage to Mecca), he began to aim for a more 'together' America, and had aims similar to those of Martin Luther King, Jr.

He found the spiritual home he had been seeking for most of his life .. Malcolm had been seeking big answers and spiritual answers throughout his life and he found what he had been seeking for in the Islamic religion.

Malcolm X's vision was of a world of universal brotherhood in which each person would be respected and loved as a citizen and as a child of God. He was opposed to racism, to capitalism and all its evil manifestations in the world, to male supremacy, and to religious intolerance. His vision was a vision of an American Revolution for all of us.
