there is no true "best character". It all depends on your skill.
But a toad and cooper character will provide you with the best box weapons.
Technically, King Boo and Petey Piranha are also a good combo, since they can receive any special item (with only 2 exceptions: They can get Mario Fireballs but not Luigi Fireballs, and Yoshi Eggs but not Birdo Eggs.)
Steven Degner Omaha Nebraska: I honestly think Princess Daisy and Baby Mario or Baby Luigi in ether the Yoshi or Warluigi Cart, because with this combo you got daisy's heart special and Baby Mario/Luigi Chain Chomp which is a good defence and speed combo. I won alot of 150cc Courses using this team. or Use Bowser and Yoshi in Bowsers kart but the Acceration is bad.
