If you want to know so you can unlock Funkey Kong there is an easier way. All you need is wi-fi. To get Funkey Kong you need to beat 25 wi-fi ghost races. This is how I did it. If you aren't as good at racing as me, you can also do (about) 3,340 races. REMEMBER: To get your funkey kong, you have to win ONE real race (i.e, Mushroom Cup, Shell Cup, Special Cup, ect.)

If you want to know so you can unlock characters other than Funkey Kong (first thank you for being patent) you need to beat the staff ghost(s) by AT LEAST 7 seconds. Some tracks only need 5 or, 6 seconds. I won't say wich ones though. *cough* *Mushroom Gorge* Others need more than 7 seconds. So, good luck!!! ;)

Actually, a kart isn't just for kids. There are many adults who do the sport. There are also races called endurance races that do 100-250 laps.

There are many different types of karts and engines. Engines= Komet Piston Port, fastest engine for teens, Yamaha, mid horsepower for any age, Shifter, fastest kart engine, TaG (Touch and Go) second fastest kart engine, Cadet, an okay speed for kids, and Kid Karts, the slowest which is for 5-8 year old kids.
