You can only get Shy Guy on multiplayer mode and play "Simple mode"

Unless you use a R4 Card (NDS Revolution Card) cheat code and turn Always is the code to Shy-Guy.

Without a revolution card it has to be in multiplayer mode in simple mode, which is the one where the other players dont have Mario Kart ds and they have to download and play.

To unlock the character 'Roselina' you have to have a saved game file with Mario Galaxy. If you don't have one (like me) then I'm afraid you have to get a star ranking on every single cup in mirror. :/ Talk about exhausting!!

Redeem a Wii Point Card (sold at retail stores like gamestop) or use a credit card and get at least 1000 Wii points ($10 USD). If you already have at least 1000 wii points, then skip this step. Click Virtual Console and search for Mario Kart 64. When you find it, click it and you can download it. Once you've downloaded it, it will appear as a channel on your Wii Menu. When you have a file on your Nintendo DS system. You take the battery out and then put it back in and it should be just like when you first bought it. But if you want to delete a game file on a game you have to ask a separate question that is not what i am answering.
