Archimedes was murdered in Syracuse, Sicily in 211 B. C.
What theory of matter did empedocles and Aristotle believe in?
Aristotle discussed his ides and theories on matter in his book Physics. Greatly simplified, Aristotle understood matter as the foundation of any changing thing. Check out the link for a more detailed description.
Did Charles Babbage designed the Analytical Engine?
Well... sort of. He invented a machine that was similar to the computer; an information keeper and answerer, the forerunner to the computer. So in a way, yes and no! Hope this answers your question! :)
What were Aristotle's interests?
Aristotle was passionate about science and social science. He spent a lifetime observing things and writing or teaching about them.
That is unknown.
Not much is known about Archimedes' personal life.
He was an ancient Greek mathematician of the 2nd/3rd century BC, as well as a poet, geographer, musical composer, scholar, and astronomer. He was the first Greek to estimate the circumference and tilt of the earth. He created a map of the earth based on the knowledge available at the time. He was highly respected, and his calculations of the earth's circumference were used for hundreds of years. Today, his method for finding prime numbers from 1-100 is known as the 'Sieve of Eratosthenes' and is taught in math textbooks.
Yes he was. He was also a mathematition, logician, and an inventor.
Is Blaise Pascal a famous mathematician?
Yes. Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) was a mathematician, physicist, inventor, and philosopher. He was one of the earliest to study binomial coefficients and the laws of probability. He created the earliest hand-powered calculating machines. Pascal's Law (pressure distribution) is a result of his study of fluids and pressure.
Plato was a student of Socrates who carried Socrates work. He founded the world's first university, called the Academy. He wrote down his teachings, and people all over the world study him today. He is also the father of political science. He later went on to teach Aristotle.
What is Leonardo Fibonacci's theory?
He invented the Finonacci number system. He figured it out after trying to work out how rabbits breed.
eg: 1,1,2,3,5,8 etc. The first 2 numbers added up equals the 3rd number. 1+1=2. 2+1=3. So on and so forth.
Hope i helped...
What are some contributions that the Muslims gave us in math?
Islamic scholars invented many mathematical concepts used today. For example: the decimal system, the concept of zero, algebra, and trigonometry. For details, see http://www.muslimheritage.com/topics/default.cfm?ArticleID=359
What was Archimedes' discovery?
Since Archimedes had so many ideas, the answer to this question is a matter of opinion. My choice is the "Archimedian Screw" which was a "spin off" of his basic mechanical screw. His Archimedian Screw was basically a tube or pipe, bent into a helical form [sort of like enclosing the threads on an ordinary screw, OR wrapping a water hose around a barrel in a spiral fasion]. When the lower end was inserted into a body of water and the screw was turned on its axis, it lifted the water up through the tube. Some very large, very high volume pumps pumps in use today still operate on his principle. I agree with what is said above, but I just wanted to add that Archimedes was a Greek Mathematician and Inventor Tashidog
Why did blaise pascal invented the calculator in 1645?
Pascal's triangle was originally devised as a means of determining binomial coefficients: when calculating (x+y)^n, Pascal's triangle is a very convenient way to find the coefficients of the result. Go to the xth row of Pascal's triangle, and use the numbers as coefficients for each term. E.g., (x+y)^4 would be found on the 4th row, the coefficients 1-4-6-4-1. Thus (x+y)^4 = 1(x^4) + 4(x^3)y + 6(xy)^2 + 4x(y^3) + 1(y^4). Pascal later discovered the triangle's use for determining probabilities as well, and mathematicians since have found myriad other uses for it.
What distinguishes Isaac Newton from others physicist?
Isaac Newton understood mathematics , theoretical physics and experimental physics.
What is 0.56 liters equal in milligrams?
no, direct conversion is from l to milligram .but ,on divding mass /volume .we called it as density.
How did isaac newton's accomplishments affect other mathematicians?
yes very indeed they were the buliding blocks of science and many other thing with out them scientist would be baffled by our technologies today
Who was more accurate Ptolemy or Copernicus?
Copernicus was correct in believing in the heliocentric model of the Solar System, which said the planets rotated round the sun. Ptolemy accepted the traditional geocentric view which had the Earth at the centre of the Solar System.
