Why is artie from glee in a wheelchair?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No the acter playing Artie in real life does not need a wheel chair. It is just for the show. They have had him shown on Glee without the wheel chair singing Safty Dance. One of the trvia coments on Glee's IMDB page is that TPTB keep trying to get the acter playing Artie to stop taping his foot while shooting because Artie is supposed to be paralized and would not be able to do that.

Is there a wheelchair narrow enough to fit through the doorways of a small trailer?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Of course there are. You can get wheelchairs of any width. There are wheelchairs that are built to go through the aisles of airplanes and they are very narrow. Without knowing the width of your doorway and the width of the person who will use the wheelchair it is difficult to advise you.

The narrowest wheelchairs are called transport wheelchairs. These are different from standard wheelchairs in that they have smaller and narrower rear wheels. If you are looking for the narrowest of wheelchairs start there. You can read more about the difference between transport and standard wheelchairs at the article below.

How much do natural female hormones cost a month?

User Avatar

Asked by Nobody099

If you are talking about the various supplements sold on the Internet and elsewhere; they can vary greatly up to several hundred dollars a month with very unproven efficiency. Natural does not mean safe for the body. I can offer you a shovelful of cow dung that is fully natural; would you eat it?

Hormones are best prescribed from a physician who will also track the various levels and the affect on the bodies organs such as the liver and kidneys which can be damaged by inappropriate use of Hormones.

Also, simply taking a female hormone does not necessarily produce results, anti-androgen drugs must also be taken to remove or block the testosterone that exists in the body.

The cost of my prescription anti-androgens and my hormones run me approximately US$180 per month (Jan 2010).

How does the stethoscope amplifies?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Modern stethoscopes consist of a shallow bell-shaped device with a clear stiff diaphragm, connected to the ear pieces by flexible tubing and a hollow metal headset. The chest piece is placed directly on the patient's skin. As the patient takes deep breaths or the heart beats, sounds are amplified through the diaphragm or bell. These amplified sounds travel through the hollow flexible tubing and headset, finally reaching the examiner's ears through the tight-fitting earpieces. At this point the examiner can describe and assess the sounds they heard and apply them to their diagnoses and treatment. User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

After using the CPAP from Feb. to August, my electricity bill has also been refigured for Jan.-June. I am on a budget payment plan and the payment has increased from $76 to $115! I live in a one bedroom condo. How can this be? It is the CPAP running all night (with water canister) which is the new electric addition. Do others have these big increases in electric bills? Is there a way to eliminate this cost? Why aren't we told of this huge cost before we agree to it?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You use a slide board. It's a board that's 9" x 3' smooth and tapered at the ends. Park the chair next to the bed, set the brakes, remove the arm of the chair nearest the bed. Insert the slide board under your leg, and the other end on the bed or the chair, depending on which way you're going. Set the height of the bed so that you're going slightly downhill, and scoot across the board.
