Can you drink alcohol while taking lamisil?

No i wouldn't advise it,tablets and medication don't mix(im on these and wont touch alcohol)

The truth is Lamisil, or it's generic equivalent Terbinafine, are both tough on the liver and have some side effects--so much so that any doctor worth his salt will run blood tests to check liver function.

But--alcohol is also tough on the liver without taking anything at all. If you are a normal person (read: not an alcoholic) in your intake, the combination of taking Lamisil/Terbinafine and moderate drinking won't effect your liver at all. Most docs do follow-up tests at 45-day intervals (this drug is usually prescribed for 90 to 180 days) and if you're having any issues at all, he/she will probably pull you from the prescription if you're honest about your alcohol use.

Can you drink alcohol with cefuroxime axetil?

Yes my friend...u can....There are only a few drugs with which alcohol is contraindicated.

They're mostly those drugs which cause a process called DISULFIRAM LIKE REACTION where the the drugs inhibit the enzyme responsible to metabolise the alcohol into its end products....If u make the mistake of taking the two together, it can lead to Symptoms like Nausea,Vomiting,Accelerated heart rate,Flushing, shortness of breath, severe headache....Something like the worst hangover u can ever get..

Some of these drugs are :

METRONIDAZOLE

TINIDAZOLE

CEFOPERAZONE

CHLORPROPAMIDE

TOLBUTAMIDE

CHLORAMPHENICOL

GRISEOFULVIN etc....

Then there are other drugs which are a problem due to a different cause -

that is drugs that themselves depress your Nervous system like alcohol and mixing the two causes increased Central nervous system depression

Like: Diazepam, barbiturates , diphenhydramine , promethazine etc ...

BOTTOMLINE: Go ahead drink ....nothing will happen...only thing that can go wrong might be that ur antibiotic wont be as effective...and that too if ur on a hardout binge.

I would 've written more but i need to take my next dose of Cefuroxime axetil now...and then again Mr. Jack Daniels from my bar is calling out to me :-D .....Alright!! Alright! I'm coming Mr. Daniels..just hold your horses

How does alcohol affect serotonin in the brain?

This is an incredibly broad question. The basic theory is that many drugs force there to be an excess of serotonin in the synapse of a neuron, by either stopping the re-uptake of it (antidepressants) or by other complex actions (amphetamines). The addicts nervous system begins to take note of this and not produce/release as much serotonin, this leads to a state of low level endogenous serotonin production, thus leading to withdrawal and craving. By taking said drug again, the patient is able to feel normal again. It should be noted that this is an extremely simple explanation of this, and that addiction is a VERY complex topic.. Dr. Dan

Why do people get addicted to drugs or alcohol?

People become addicted because drugs and alcohol (a drug) cause changes in brain chemistry. To begin with, that just makes us feel good. Eventually, the drug no longer works as well (tolerance), and we need more to feel good. We feel bad if we don't have them. Eventually they become necessary for anything like "normal" functioning.

When we need drugs just to feel normal, we are addicted, and withdrawal usually makes us feel so bad that we convince ourselves that we'll quit later -- or that we don't have a problem. Things go downhill from there.

Can you drink alcohol and take cyclobenzaprine 600mg together?

I recently injured my lower back and was told by my doctor to take 600 mg of ibuprofen three times a day along with a prescribed 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine. After 4 days of following this routine, my friends invited me to go out for a drink one night. Fearing that drinking alcohol and taking the amount of medication prescribed might cause adverse effects, I called up my pharmacist and ask him if it was possible to have alcohol while taking my meds.

I told him that that morning I had taken 600 mg of ibuprofen and asked whether it was ok to take 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine. He laughed and told me that one night of drinking alcohol was not going to effect me. He also told me that I might get plastered much quicker than I normally would, but it wouldn't hurt me. Basically, he explained that 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine would pretty much double the alcoholic effects of one beer on my system; therefore, he advised that I not over do it, and drink half of what I normally do. Other than that, he said it would be fine and it wouldn't kill me (which I was afraid it might do; I'm a semi-phobic about taking any drugs what so ever).

Just know your limit and try not to binge drink. This drug follows the "too much of a good thing, is a bad thing" rule.
