Are you allowed to go swimming with a period?
Yes, You can. However, I would recommend wearing a tampon while swimming. In some cases periods will stop while swimming due to the difference in pressure. But, if you were to sneeze, cough, or laugh, you would change the pressure, probably making you leak a bit. That would be a bit embarrassing. Nothing should hold you back from enjoying a nice swim. Just remember a little extra protection.
There is no direct evidence to support the idea that tampons cause cancer, however many brands of tampons are bleached with chlorine or oxygen gas bleaching which creates the byproduct of dioxin - dioxin is a cancer-causing toxin, repeated exposure can increase risk of certain reproductive health problems and cancers. It is thus advisable to opt for non-bleached cotton tampons, or consider safer options such as sponges, non-bleached cotton pads, cloth pads, menstrual cups or softcups.
Can you have trouble becoming pregnant if you use tampons?
No, long-term use of tampons does not cause infertility. If concerned consider safer options like pads or menstrual cups.

Some girls may, some girls may start earlier or later. It depends upon the dose of other hormones (such as growth hormones found in meat) consumed during childhood and youth. It also is dependent upon genetics. If you know about what time your mother started her period you may start yours around the same time.

What could it mean if your period late is right but you discharged dark brown?
This could be a sign that you are pregnant. Missing a period is an early sign of pregnancy and often 'spotting' (dark brown, red or pink discharge) occurs around the time your period would normally occur. This is because the egg is attaching to the lining of the womb and can cause some of the blood vessels to rupture in the process. You should take a pregnancy test

What if your period lasts for 5 months?
Go to your doctor immediatly. You might have either a hormonal inbalance (something I had several years ago, fixed pretty easily with medicine), fibriods, uterine cysts, or polyps. In order to determine exactly what is going on that is causing such an abnormally long period, you need to be checked out by a doctor. Again, go as soon as you can.
Some men wear tampons for the same reason anyone would use tampons: they menstruate.
Some men have a vagina and a uterus so will still menstruate and so need to use tampons, pads, or cups in order to deal with that, just like women who menstruate. Some men will also use tampons to deal with nose bleeds, they are the perfect shape to fit into the nostril to soak up the blood.

How do I prevent my menstruation?
Hormonal therapy is a good idea if you don't mind it. It regulates you so when you come to the placebo pills you know that you should start your period. It controls how long your period goes on too, which can be a blessing. I was having periods that were so iratic it was insane. I was bleeding from 3-15 days straight when I had mine. I really didn't want to turn to the pill but it's the only other option I could handle to keep me sane, plus, I wasn't spending so much time worrying about everything.. like when I was going to start or end, washing my bed sheets or clothes if I bled through because I thought my period was over with or spending money on so many sanitary napkins. I would mention something to your doctor and ask him what your options are. There are many things you can do other than hormones. They have cloth pads that you can wash.. but for me that's too messy. The also have something called a cervial cup that is something like a balloon. It fills and you change it later. It's less hassal than pads and tampons because of the less frequent changing.

Does fibroids affect fertility?
Fibroids are usually benign, harmless masses. In some cases a fibroid is problematic and in others it does not affect fertility. It depends on its size and placement within the reproductive area. It is a very common condition that's present in approximately 40% of women; some don't even know they have a fibroid until they have a procedure done, e.g., an ultrasound. I say don't worry about it.
