I am on 100mg of Methadone and have been for a few years now. Three weeks ago my doctor put me on Paxil. He said it was safe.I have noticed no side effects at all!

First off it comes in several types, which makes no right answer. As with everything else regarding opiates, the dose plays the largest role in answering the question. If you find methadone that will break down, the size of dose is going to dictate if have an early demise. My question is why would you shoot methadone? There are so many other drugs you can get your altered state of consciousness from. Methadone is primarily a N.R.T. substance, so use it what it is designed for. No lectures but get cleaned up and life up to your potential instead of hiding behind a drug induced state of ambiguity, which you are really going to regret later; if there is a later and from the type of questions you ask, I don't see there being much of a later if you don't start doing some real research prior to having these great thoughts.

You will go into opiate withdrawals for 1-4 months. The reason it is so long is because of the half life methadone has. It is a horrible drug I suggest a one week suboxone taper then it will be about 8 days of Suck but manageable. A big factor in withdrawal from methadone is the amount of time you have been on it. If you have been on it for several days or weeks the withdrawal should not be much worse than a heroin withdrawal. If you are on the methadone for several years, than you are in for a real challenge! Difficulty with sleeping is one long term symptom of withdrawal from methadone after a long time on it. After the initial withdrawals begin to wear off, often difficulty with sleeping is a big problem. The next big factor is the dose you were on. If you are on methadone for maintenance treatment, today the methadone programs often allow very high doses of meth. Sometimes in excess of 200mg. To get off a dose like this, especially if you were on it for a dose, a very slow detox, and taper, especially when reaching less than 10 mg is optimum. When dropping off to nothing, sometime clonidine, a blood pressure med, is given. It seems to help with withdrawal. If you weren't on meth for a long time, maybe several weeks, a couple of months, a detox from the dosage you were on is suggested. Actually, if you were not on methadone for a long time, and the dose you were on was not too high, the withdrawals seen with heroin will occur; restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, diarrhea, vomiting, craving for methadone, chills, fever, no appetite, sneezing. These are the most common. It may take a couple of days more than heroin for the withdrawals to pass, 7days, maybe 10 for the symptoms to fully subside. I have heard, that the flu like symptoms with methadone is actually a bit less than a heroin withdrawal. The bottom line is it can be done! I have done it myself after being on it for years. It is difficult, but It is possible to obtain abstinence, even prolonged. I am not a big fan of methadone, there are other treatment modalities using heroin to treat that addiction, but that is another story!

Salvia is undetectable except in military testing but since Salvia is legal at least in most of the US they're unlikely to test for it. Shrooms will show up on a drug test, but it is relatively uncommon to test for.

Methadone is used to treat people who are addicted to opiates such as oxycontin. Many people enter treatment facilities and take methadone to help themselves to get off the opiates and eventually detox from the methadone.

Methadone is giving for two reason one is for chronic pain and the other is to detox a person who is addicted to opiates. methadone is an opiod which is addictive its self but it stays in your body longer and you dont get the high feeling from whatever opiates you were using and then when the dr feels its time they will slowly bring you off the methadone

However, it is addictive as you know and there comes a time when a little isn't enough. It's hard on the heart, kidneys and liver, not to mention damaging brain cells.

i took a hit about 10 hours before a urine test and it didnt show up but it was through a company that was contracted thru my security job so it might on a really expensive test but me and my gym buddies have been testd thru alot of our jobs and we all were ok

The 3 days is correct.The incorrect part of this is that not just weed will stay in your system for any period of time.Any type of drug that is smoked/inhaled will stay in the cells of your lungs and the fatty tissues of your body.People smoke cocaine,speed/meth,heroin,raw opium etc..even some medications such as the old qualudes and mandrexexes people smoked called "chasing the dragon".Any drug smoked can stay in your system 30 to 60 days depending on the amount of fatty tissue in your body.

I wouldn't. Methadone is usually prescribed for opiate-addicted patients for treatment in detoxification. Methadone is also prescribed for relief of severe pain, so using painkillers after methadone would probably intensify the effect of both drugs and possibly cause nausea, constipation, and drug addiction.

Yes, but it is really pointless because methadone has opiate blocking properties and will block the effects of the hydrocodone. When I was on methadone, I had a root canal and got vicodin (hydrocodone) and they did absolutley nothing because of the methadone. Methadone does help with pain though.

It probably depends on your usage habits. For instance, you likely would not get sick if you were to take 1 or 2 10mg hydrocodone after a dentist's appointment and then take suboxone a week later. However, since opioids can accumulate in your body, if you have had a steady habit for a long while it will take longer for them to purge out of your system.

I wouldn't say it's safe because you are talking about very powerful opiates here, but I dont know why you would take Demerol after you took 50mg of MEthadone because it will not really have any effect. Methadone has opiod inhibiting properties and will clog the receptors in your brain, therefore making the Demerol completely useless for the most part.

You can do that by going to a hospital, or a rehab clinic that does the rapid opiate elimination... They would give you general anesthesia, and then put you on high dose IV naloxone, A powerful opiate antagonist. If you do not get the general anesthesia then the naloxone would cause the most potent pain a human can experience. Some people take naloxone in very small dosages mixed with buprenorphine which can kill the addiction...

But even with the rapid elimination process it would still take a few days for a negative opiate test, not to mention the time you'd be in the hospital (usually in the ICU) This is a great procedure that takes away the chemical addiction completely, it's relatively fast compared to other procedures, the difference is the patient doesn't feel any discomfort as they would feel with any other detox methods... If you have to take a pee test, go to a doc, have him write you a script for Tylenol 3, and you can state to the "drug administrator" that you don't take drugs but you do take Tyl.3 for migraines... Tyl3 has codeine one of the weakest opiates available, and does cause you to test positive for opiates on the tests...

The same thing happened to me but with amphetamines, I was prescribed a lot of Adderall and would only use it for recreational purposes, then I got a job and tested positive for amphetamines... I showed them the bottle of adderall with my name on it, said it was for a very mild ADD I had and that I would only take when I needed lots of concentration. They didn't mind, but some companies will ask for a letter from your doc, stating if and why you were prescribed that med....
