'Op' or operator is the vanilla Minecraft version of an administrator or moderator in certain permissions plugins. Really they aren't comparable as operator privileges usually are disabled in most permission plugins. However, if you were to compare it, OP would be better seeing as they have access to all the commands in vanilla Minercaft, whereas moderators usually are somewhat restricted in control.

It depends on your connection speed.. but It's only one small file so it usually doesn't take that long.

Usually, a head piece will come with a full outfit, apart from that, I don't think you can buy headgear by itself.

The Enderman can pick up certain blocks and move them around. Creepers can blow holes in the ground. But apart from these, mobs generally cannot affect the terrain.

There could be something wrong with the mod, because that shouldn't happen. Items that you throw should only disappear if they hit cactus or lava, or if they are laying there for a while. You could try reinstalling the mod.

Try placing your Enchantment Table in a room made of bookcase blocks. You will see white debris coming torwards the table and black debris moving away from it. Soon, the levels will get higher for your enchantment table.

Yes you can download a minecraft account. You will need to have bought your minecraft account. If you didn't It won't work. First download a skin from a website and upload it to minecraft.net profile page of yours.

If you don't have an up-to date computer, your account will still be valid, but you can not play on that computer. All you have to do is get a new computer and re-download Minecraft, then sign in as you usually would.

There are hundreds of mods made by hundreds of people. They go from a single simple mod to dozens of mods that will put your computer to hard work to run them.

Also be aware that every time Mojang updates the game the modders have to redo each mod to be compatible. It could be hours to weeks for some mods to work again.

Sand can be used to make glass, sandstone and TNT.

TNT isn't so commonly used. It's not very useful, and hard to make. But it can be fun sometimes. When you activate it, it explodes a little area around it. It can be crafted like this (S = Sand, G = Gunpowder/Sulphur):

Diamond is the best material for armour and weapons, and the best for tools in almost all cases (Iron and even Gold can mine certain blocks faster). Its only disadvantage is its rarity.
