You can model at basically any age. There are baby/toddler models, child models and teen models. Fashion models range between 14-22 and commercial/print models range from 15-30 and older. There are lifestyle models for older models and even senior models.

The way clients/companies like Baby Phat find models is to hold a model casting, which goes out to agencies located in the area where the gig is going to take place. So they search more than one agency to find models. For example, if Baby Phat has a print shoot in New York, then they will put out a casting call to all fashion agencies in the New York area like Ford, Wilhelmina, etc and those agencies will send out the models that Baby Phat is interested in.

Models are required to work in a number of working conditions and environments, including being on set of a photo studio, on location for a shoot (which could be anywhere from a beach to a hotel, restaurant or other public setting) and backstage/on stage for fashion shows.

Models are required to learn how to change fast, produce quality poses that photograph well and by on "stand by" in between shoots, changes in setup/location or when changing looks/outfits. Models work solo as well as with other models, sometimes in couple shots or in group settings.

They must also be okay with being handled by other people when it comes to getting makeup and hair done/retouched, styling/fixing the clothes and having themselves groomed by others.

try going to an agency! I went to one and they talked to me about justice modeling, but, I would have been traveling out to different places all over the country, which would be fun, but that agency just wasn't the right one for me. Make sure the agency is right for you too! I hope I helped you! ps. dont get tricked into some agencies, some just want you for your money.

Models can be limited by their height, weight and/or measurements. Additionally, they can also be limited if they are not located in a good-sized modeling market such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, etc.

There are two types of model castings. Modeling agencies sometimes hold open model casting calls where anyone can come in and be evaluated by the agency staff without needing an appointment. Such model castings are held during certain time frames on certain days of the week. Not all modeling agencies offer these kind of model castings.

The other type of model casting is the kind where models go to meet with clients that are hiring models. Basically it is the model's form of an audition. The word "audition" is used for actors so "castings" is used for models. Clients meet with the models, look at his/her pictures/portfolio and decide who they want to hire.

There is no exact weight that plus size models should be and in most cases they do not need to gain weight for modeling jobs. What determines whether a plus size model will book a particular job or not is her measurements. As long as her measurements are right for the client then chances are she won't have to worry about gaining any weight.

The best way to get your daughter into clothing catalogs is to find a modeling agency near you and check out their website to see what the requirements are. It all depends on how old your daughter is (this will determine whether she would do children's modeling or teen modeling--assuming your daughter is not 18 years of age or older) and if she has a good commercial look that is marketable. Do an online search for modeling agencies based on the city and state you live in and see what websites pop up.

Stay away from agencies that try to get you to pay money upfront for photos and a portfolio, or that try to sell you modeling classes. These are shady operations that should be avoided at all costs. A legit agency will sign your daughter and train her for free.

At age 12 you can do teen modeling, which has a flexible height requirement. At 5'4" at age 12 an agency that represents teen models would more than likely sign you, in addition to having a marketable look of course. From 13-14 and up the height requirements kick in. For commercial/print the height range for women is 5'5"-5'7" and for female fashion/runway models you have to be 5'8"-6'0".

Only if the child actor or child model is able to book consistent work and snag the biggest jobs. If a child actor gets booked for a recurring role on a TV series for example, then he/she can stand to make a lot of money, especially if merchandising and commercials are involved. Child models can make a lot of money if they happen to book ad campaigns for big name clients. But they don't necessarily make more money than adult models.

Test shoots are basically free shoots where a model and photographer do a photoshoot together. Both benefit because they get to use the images for their portfolios. Agencies also set up test shoots for new models in order to create their portfolios once they are signed. In exchange for a model's time he/she will receive copies of their images from the photographer.

The process is fairly similar to starting a talent or modeling agency. The most basic steps include getting the proper paperwork and licensing/certification required by your state, setting up an office to hold the castings, hiring staff (bookers, receptionist, etc), starting to network with clients and casting directors, and creating an online database where actors and models can set up their profiles with their photos and information.
